Not sure if it really qualifies as a chick flick though. However, I do remember it was presented as "the next Twilight" in the cinema trailers here, and it certainly has a few hints of chick flick to it.
By that definition Alien would be a chick flick too, wouldn't it?
No, I was thinking of the "will she choose Gale or Peeta?" dilemma. It's not the main plot line, but it's definitely a big element in the story and it does remind me a little bit of Twilight. Also, in the books, everything is told directly from the perspective of a teenage girl and I think the series generally appeals the most to that audience too.
So in that sense, I think it has some hints of chick flick to it (or chick lit).

...does Warm Bodies count?
After all, it's pretty much a modern take on Romeo & Juliet, but with zombies.

I'd say it counts.
Better than Twilight.
Mainly because it's funnier.
And also because I believed Jacob got treated like shit, but whatevs.
Not like I'm a Team Jacob supporter or anything.
Because, you know, I'm not.

Yeah totally.
Because they make chick flicks about children killing each other and political uprisings.
If you're watching it for Gale v Peeta you will be very disappointed.
But hopefully the movie switches that and fixes one other thing.

Well, I literally said "Not sure if it really qualifies as a chick flick" and "it has some hints of chick flick to it". I'm trying to emphasize that I think it is NOT a typical chick flick, but you might say it contains a few chick flick elements.
If you're watching it for Gale v Peeta you will be very disappointed.

No, I like the story as a whole. Gale vs Peeta is not really what I'm watching the films for.
Anyway, I'm just mentioning it because out of all films that I enjoyed, The Hunger Games is about the closest to chick flick I can think of.
I saw someone mention Warm Bodies earlier, which I enjoyed too, but I think that one is much further off from the genre.
