I think you give up too easily. Maybe you need to take some time when you think your drawing is finished just looking at it and thinking about how it looks and why before you move on to colouring. But I know how you feel - this assignment is one that I think I would find difficult as well.

When I look at your drawing I feel like I understand what you might have been going for (also based on the rules of the assignment). If i'm right he's seen something or someone approaching him unexpectedly and he's in a panic. To me his posture looks a bit stiff and board like. Also his pose is more one of relaxation - one leg bent and one straight out, arms rested at his side. I think it might be better if he were in a panic trying to get away. Below is how I would try to illustrate that.

Also the facial expression is a bit off. I think it's mostly the eyebrows. There are sort of in the 'at rest' position making him look a bit spaced out. Unless this is what you were going for. Then good job.

Oh okay. My bad for misinterpreting then. But now that you point that out i like your idea and I think your drawing is much better at depicting what you intended. I guess i didn't really get the connection to the book. Maybe just draw more attention to it. Make there is a light source behind the book and the pedestal casts a shadow on the man. That way the shadow is symbolic of the effect the book had on the man and creates something to draw the eye between the two and create a connection.

You attacked me first. Every time I post art in this forum I get attacked, never ceases to amaze.

I guess you were expecting a human subject crying instead? OP did not specify. That's art for you.

Classy.

There is no element in your picture that would suggest that this wolf "glimpsed the unthinkable". It's just sitting in a cubic room crying, together with a tear with legs, arms and a face, which is why 123mine asked for an explanation.

The topic of this challeng was " to illustrate something that shows the theme of seeing or witnessing knowledge or an act that overwhelms the subject to the point of madness, death or serious emotional harm.".
It was important to use expression in this artwork. How a human, alien, animal or anthro would react to such a revelation and make this emotion clear to the viewer. You did not do this.

You are welcome to participate next time, but understand that there will be feedback and not all positive. Take it, learn from it and improve by it. Thats what criticism is for ; )

Are you tards still talking to me? Did I strike a nerve? I expressed "serious emotional harm".

Uh duh, you think art is supposed to be one dimensional or something, you have no clue.

Eugh, Bazooka's reply was polite and thought out, yet you reply like this?

For the sake of killing off the drama in an otherwise fine thread, I'm just going to ban you since your behaviour and attitude stinks.

No I didn't think that at all. I actually like your piece and wolf that's why I got interested it.

But if you look at the piece itself, it doesn't look like the wolf saw something unthinkable and got emotionally sad.
And it could be better when you could exaggerate the expression showing how emotionally scarred he is.
If you look at the first post by the OP, this was made to challenge us to make these pieces out of our comfort zones.
If some members or the OP find some fault on our drawings, we say what we think and tell opinions about them.
That's called criticism, which will point your faults so that you could do better.

If you think this is an "attack" of you personally, then you are gravely mistaken.
I hope when the ban gets lifted or made another account you could have a better attitude when posting your pieces here.
I hope also you are reading this. And good luck with your future art stuff.
And I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Guys, remember, as always on the internet, dont feed the trolls. You're just wasting your own time talking to them.

So. All done here, my final verdict on this challenge is that all of us apparently like old men and books. I think as a collective we all failed to make a better product conceptually but we all learned something, so I'm happy with it.

Wizard's looks at our stuff and blacklists us, we get kicked out of our apartment because we cant afford rent and we go out on the street, life on the streets is hard, and we eventually get addicted to pcp and go on a murderous rampage before we feed our face to some squirrels at a park before expiring because we didnt notice we were drowning in our own bile.

Being an artist is suffering.

You are a dashing rogue artist who lives on the edge. Its time for you to own the streets and put your crew/street name out there in the hood and also the most insane most illegal place. The internet.

Graffiti

The idea is to explore color and the freedom of shape and style, but without being constrained by trivial things like anatomy or the ability to spell properly or speak your native language in a respectful manner. Draw some text based graffiti, remember perspective, color, flow, composition and stuff are all still a thing, but you have complete freedom in the look and theme of your tag. It can spell whatever you want, or nothing in particular. If you want to be extra dope and phat and wiggity stupid get a figure in there that blends compositionally with your text. Be bold, legibility is not very important, but contrast, vibrancy and creativity are.

If this were real you'd be getting arrested and fined 500 dollars. Good luck.

I may have tried too hard to convey my word. Listening to a song that's been saying "-blank- for me I don't believe in -blank-".

Way back in the day I partook (legally) in the graff scene and I vividly remember dripping lines and paint never quite sticking to grout. Also, newspaper, gloves, and masks were VERY important.. to me at least. Blah blah no one cares
