Logic Pro X or upgrade from Cubase 2014-01-06 04:47:55 Reply

I've heard a lot of good things about the new logic software. I've been using cubase artist 7 for quite a while now, though it has limited plugins and features in comparison (I've purchased third party plugins on the side) to the full version. Now that logic pro X is out I'm thinking of buying it. I heard the drummer module is extremely useful, besides the additional 35 gigs of content that I get with the purchase. Now the other alternative is upgrading to Cubase 7.5 full but that would cost an additional amount of money. It seems like logic x is a no brainer, I would have its midi advantage, and I could always use both artist and logic x in parallel to each other. I've been using cubase for a while now and logics interface never really appealed to me until X, which seems much more organised now. Would it be easy to familiarise with for a cubase user? What do you guys think?

If you are used to Cubase, then stick with Cubase. Get a full version.

There is no such thing as a "best" DAW. Only what works for you.

After looking at what both Logic Pro X offers and what an Upgrade from your Version of Cubase Artist to Cubase Full would offer, I would heavily consider going with the Full version of Cubase instead, it looks like a better value-for-money deal. You should be able to grab a 30 day demo of it as well before you buy if you want to try.

In the end it's your choice and you should really go with what agrees with your workflow.
