i haven't been to many underground places with rappers in them, only a club in a town called Poughkeepsie that premiers new guys in metal and hardcore rock. most of the time it is used for bands on tours though

Del isn't really unknown. After all, he was the mc of Gorillaz.
But other good underground rappers include Aesop Rock, Slug, Jean Grae (best female rapper evar), RA the Rugged Man, Choclair, Murs and Jer the Dejama.
They aren't in the limelight, but they're all well established in the hip hop scene.

Buck 65 is realatively unknown, and awesome.
I heard this one guy "Keith Turbo" funny stuff but his music is awesome. Plus he's got some plastic Elvis hair going for him.
