Being friends for the entire year (and for the rest of humanity's existence) seems more like a New Years' Resolution to me. Unrealistic, but it would be nice.

I hate it when people make a New Years' Resolution, follow it for about a week or two, then revert back to their old selves, and wait until the next year to repeat the same pointless procedure again.

Maybe you should just have a moral commitment, instead of a New Year's commitment. So that you can fully understand the true meaning of learning of change within yourself.

Change shouldn't mean some gimmick that millions celebrate once a year and abandon the next day, it should take pure focus and full effort to fulfill the desperate change that you seek within yourself.

Simply making it a "New Years Resolution" isn't enough, it takes dedication to actually improving the small or big changes in your life that will cause a major benefit to your morality in life. You need to physically and mentally improve your life and actually dedicate your life to making them.

It isn't just enough to slap a label on something and say "you'll do it eventually" it takes guts, commitment, and dedication.
