There's punishments up to life imprisonment for committing homosexual acts. Not reporting gay people is also a crime, with a prison sentence.

It's called the "Kill Gays Bill" because it originally the punishments included the death penalty. This was still being proposed by some members of the parliament last time I checked.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's de-facto legal to kill them though.

To tell you the truth, that's what came to mind when I read the title.

The title is pretty misleading, they don't "execute" them, at worst, they get life in prison. Not much better, true, in fact you could argue that's worse but regardless, they don't kill them.

Adults have the right to decide who they want to have a relationship with, no law should treat them like sub-humans or lesser citizens. (though I oppose same-sex marriage being performed in a church because I believe a church has the right to preform its services following its practices and maintaining its principles and shouldn't be forced into marrying two people if that marriage infringes upon the view of the church they're being married under, if the state wants to recognize their union, that's the states deal, but the state can't force a religious institution to bless a union it does not recognize itself)

Anyways, I can understand WHY that might be a favorable law there though, regardless of how terrible it is, with the rampant AIDS/HIV in Africa, and terrible hospitals/aid, and lack of education, I'm sure they see it as their best interest to prevent it at any means necessary.
