Websites to earn money with music 2013-12-20 12:59:44

I love to make music, i always did and always will.
But when someone pays you for custom audio things work different, i feel like my music has a purpose and i deliver the best of me even if the pay is 10$.

So my questions are these:
-Are there more sites like Newgrounds where we can get an occasional paying job? Like making intros, trailers, SFX for a game, custom music, ocasional VA, any of those things?
-Iv seen a lot of NGers releasing albums on BandCamp i have 2 questions about this
-Most people release their album free of charge with the choice of people donating money if they want to, do they generally end up donating even if very little?
-Albums at a set price, do you guys get any respectable sells or none whatsoever?

Eager to know your oppinions :)

Besides posting and asking developers/filmmakers/people who need custom music? I really don't know. From what I've read here, a lot of musicians/producers would look and ask for work rather than making "looking for work" threads.

That depends on the person making the album. Most of the time, they'd put it on a "name-your-price" so that people would have a choice. But there's nothing wrong with putting a set price, tho.

Bandcamp | Ko-Fi | John Wall of Sound's Bandcamp

Yeah i meant another website to better my chances of finding someone who is looking for an audio guy, something that works exactly like the Audio forum of NG.

But, do they manage to get anything at all with the "name-your-price"? Thats my real doubt :)
Thanks yoshi!

You can just make your own website and sell your music that way if you want instead of going through a music storefront service.

Try Shopify, it's pretty nifty. You can setup downloadable purchases that will give the buyer a downloadable file after they purchase. You can also just build a simple website and use PayPal/2Checkout/WePay or whatever service you want.

Actually, it's pretty rare for you (if you're just starting out) to actually earn good money from it.

then again if you're doing it just for the money (like i used to), then you're probably a capitalist

Oh dont get me wrong, i dont want to earn good money, or better, i dont expect that at all.
I just want an extra motivation to back me up while i do music :)

I only referenced Bandcamp because i am seriously considering releasing an album and if i had some people telling me "Yeah man, i released an album there for free and actually some people donated!" i would have a better idea on how it works.
What i am really looking for is another website exactly like NG to better my chances of finding paying jobs, a site where occasionally a guy goes there and asks for a decent audio guy but doesn't have much to spare, i love these little indie projects!
