yep real and truly i know a few of you know already it was on tv the mantis and the kuratas mechs. one is a giant insectoid one the other is is a semi humanoid ( more of a centar esque thing ) with FUNCTIONAL ARMS more of a seariosly awsome car then a true mech. what occurs to me is if you put them togather it would be awsome look at them its not just a hyperthetical thing either

the mantis walking video

kuratas operational manual

see just cut the crappy non walking legs off the kuratas and power weld the the mantis all in there and ad the wheels back on it for a high speed mode and you got a real mech just like in alot of games can walk and roll and is customisable.

seariosly im surprised they havent done that before i mean you already would have to spend 1.4 million on a kuratas why not make it a true mecha.

Because the amount of power needed to keep any large machinery running for an extended period of time just can't be condensed enough right now.

One thing I liked about the first Iron Man movie was they were honest about how much power mechanical suits eat up. Stark built a device capable of running a house non-stop for months, and yet he still only got like, 5 minutes of use out of it.

exept all systems on both run on diesel or gasolene which means it can be modified to run on bio deisle and from what i understand there just slightly less fuel efficent then a normal tank .

stark dident have the room on his suit for a big generator and huge fuel tank .plus if you look at his first suit from its wepaons he only needed that much power for the flight systems every thing else wouldent have needed much power at all and later he also needed it for repulsers + flight for a thing with fake weapons thats grounded would have vastly lower power requirments heck even with conventional weapons equiped it would still have fairly low power requirments far lower then your thinking especialy since the legs and torso can have independent power plus it has room for both a good generater and enough fual to run it (our generater tech is alot further along then our battery tech)

Yeeeaaaahhhh, there's no way fossil fuels are gonna be able to power a large, fully functional mech, it's just not happening

In several decades there will surely be advances in energy storing and generation, in fact there's already "Micro batteries" which are, as the name implies, microscopic batteries. They can deliver a pretty impressive amount of energy and they're only just now in the beginning phase.

So yeah, no fully functional battle mechs for now. In a few decades, maybe. Just be patient.

again you are vastly over estimated the power requirments both machenes mentioned are fully functional and will work for a fair amount of time putting them togather makes sense SINCE BOTH WORK by the way you only need the legs in rough terrain not 24 7 thats why you keep the wheels

they just need monny and its a reality plus the only 2 thing keeping them from being spun off into a weapon is 1 they both are made by people who dont want it made into a weapon and the military ansewrs to bone heads they dident jump on rocket tech either and look at what happened there the allies lost a ton of guys to nazi missles inww2

again BOTH MACHENES WORK AND FOR DECENT PERIODS OF TIME THEY JUST NEED TO BE PUT TOGATHER AND FUNDED

We have nuclear energy that keeps on multiplying, but it would be dangerous having a nuclear powered robot moving around.

Man the name Kurata, this reminds me of an Anime Infinite stratos. Lol.

But will we be able to fuck with mechs?

Can we perfectly penetrate promiscuous plebeians with our proud prods of playful procreation?
