At first, I didn't think I would like the first fallouts because of their morbidity and turn-based combat, but after playing some F2, I've decided that I was wrong.
I really like the combat system, and the game never came off as 2spooky4me. The dialogues are certainly well-written and the game always knows when to set the mood, and how.
I kind of have an interest for old PC games. I have a Steam folder where I put all them. This was a good addition to the folder, and I'm definitely going to get plenty of jollies out of it.
It's on sale now, so go buy that shit. for $5 you get three fallouts. Which, by my calculation, is at least one more than two fallouts.

You missed getting them for free in the GOG sale. http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1356638

Yeah, I noticed that before.
At the time, I wasn't sure if I wanted it or not.

It was free. Why not get it, even if you weren't sure you wanted it?

Lots of things are free, that doesn't mean you just take it, especially if you don't want it.
I don't stuff my face with free samples because they're free.

Maybe if you are sure you don't want it but if you are on the fence you might as well just get it when it's still free rather than spend money later. That $5 could have gone towards other things like another game you were eyeing.
I got the free version too.
Also, I reinstalled Starcraft and noticed the Fallout reference for the first time ever!

I think fallout 1 and 2 goes free on GOG pretty often. I know I got them both for free from gog. you should've just waited.
i would have been happy buying them
buuuuuut i didn't because i caught them on GOG when they were free so nyeh.
You know I'm finding it very hard to enjoy this game.
Really sucks when I literally miss 10 attacks in a row with an 80% chance to hit.
Like fuck that.

You're playing 2 then? It gets better.

Fantastic purchase OP, took me a while to get to grips with Fallout one but when I did I was wasting hours like no ones business. You've gotta love Steam and it's addiction feeding ways, god bless Valve, god bless them all!

Yeah I restarted and made a character better equipped to deal with this stuff. And by that i mean more action points and agility and perception.
It has gotten more interesting though

Missing attacks is quite common early on because your character is weaker than the average human npc. Investing in agility and action points was a good thing to do since everything that increases action points / reduces AP consumption will make your character way more powerful quickly.
