How are Egoraptor Pewdiepie legally employed by youtube when they use
copyrighted content.

Negotiations for crossovers are years in the making because they need multiple companies to agree and payout. Studios have to purchase characters to use them which costs them millions.

Yet their movies are their main source of income.

I'm not calling them here, I'm only asking how, why this is?

They aren't legally employed by Youtube, they get ad revenue checks.
Also fair use.
Also that big Youtube claim apocalypse that's flagging a shitton of videos for copyright.

Does it bother anyone else that people like Egoraptor can just record themselves forcing unintelligible conversion while playing video games and earn more than most people do at their jobs that demand some form or real physical work?

Are you talking about animation? How do you know that it is Egoraptor's main source of income?

Also, you are allowed to parody whatever you want.

Yeah why is that? Their just a bunch of dudes with too much time on their hands. And also, I don't even give a damn of who they are or what they do. As long as they keep me and a majority of people entertained and happy. Furthermore, who even gives a damn of what they earn? As long as it doesn't end up bringing a problem for me and majority of others. To me, as a educated person, I would say, who gives a fuck? And why should I care?

It wouldn't mind if I thought they were doing it solely because they like it, and were putting a lot of effort into making their videos good, but I feel like most Youtubers (Smosh, Fred and Shane Dawson are all flawless examples of this) just churn out shit video after shit video week after week in order to make some quick easy money.

Considering how many people Egoraptor entertains, not really.

If you can make a living doing what you like, by all means do it. I think Egoraptor is doing that with game grumps, plus at this point I think he make more money via merchandise than ad revenue.

If you seriously think that, then you know nothing about video games. There are so many games with such amazing characters, such incredible stories and amazing music.

One of the only games/stories that ever managed to properly portray time travel without fucking everything up and making no chronological sense whatsoever.

This storyline along with its successors had enough of an effect to get the entire gaming community in an uproar over its ending. That is how powerful games are.

The Zelda timeline has spawned countless debates and videos because of how badly people want to make sense of it.

Seriously though, it seems like they're not hurting anyone, so if they want to make money, then so be it...but I feel like this whole YouTube-celebrity-revenue-system is just a bubble that'll pop sooner or later. Maybe it isn't....
But if it is, what are they going to do when shit hits the fan?

That fact about lets players has bothered me for years, but it annoys me more that some people praise them as if they found the cure to cancer.

At least Ego is arguably entertaining though.

Yes it does. Not because I'm mad that he's making more money, that's great and shit, but just because it shows how fucking stupid people are.

I guess that makes sense, but it doesn't upset me.
With egoraptor as the example - he's a talented animator, and was originally famous for his independent work AS an animator. Gamegrumps was never meant to be as successful as it now is, they just lucked out.
So it is a bit silly that they make as much money as they do, but whatever - the fans are the reason they're getting payed.

And I wouldn't call the fans stupid, because everyone is a fan of something. And if you have fans, you deserve the money

EXCEPT JUST FUCKING KIDDING THERE IS A LIMIT TO HOW TRUE THAT IS look at professional athletes. They make waaaaaay more fucking money than they deserve -__-

It seems people are confused here.

I'm not asking about popularity, OR the legality of parody.

I'm asking why he gets a single cent of anything he produces.

Ad sense, in case you didn't know doesn't allow copyright content, they forced me to remove a book cover for a book review i did i earned less than a cent on.

Sooo what's up?

Not me.

Over one million people find them entertaining because they enjoy relaxing and having a laugh at two goofballs playing (and sucking at) old games while sharing jokes, knowledge, and personal touching stories. You not liking it is your opinion and shows how jealous you are.

They aren't employed by youtube.

And you can use copyrighted material like video game characters if it's for parody, as in Egoraptor's case.

PewDiePie's employers/network probably have licensing deals worked out with various legal departments.

xenomit have you ever thought of trying to be more tolerant of other peoples opinions? just because someone likes something you don't like doesn't mean they're retarded.
