Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee remake

OI is making an HD remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (The first game in the Oddworld series) and it will release in Spring 2014. The game will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U. They have also released HD remakes for the other Oddworld games, Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee.

alright! i loved Abe's Odyssey and this is good news to hear of a remake. i will definitely be getting this for the WiiU.

While I can honestly say I'm not 100% thrilled to hear they're remaking it (since I think the PS1 version is fine the way it is), I suppose this gives me another reason to want to go out and get a PS4.

pretty much pointless since the ps1 graphics were already perfect for the game, but i guess nobody can enjoy anything now unless it's polished to the max.

They are remaking all the Oddworld games so Oddworld can regain publicity while they are making new games in the series

I think just announcing a new Oddworld game would bring enough publicity to the series.
Though I suppose remaking it and getting new fans doesn't hurt.
But I doubt there are many new fans who'll buy it and NOT rage quit less than halfway into the game.

Absolutely unnecessary remake, the graphical style of the original Abe games was perfectly fitting.

I love Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus, I am not getting these remakes. The originals are better, fact.

Oooo cool. I had some doubts but this looks really well done. And it's good to see it's coming out on PS3 as well. I'm actually able to buy it when it comes out.

I get where he's coming from in that what's branded as a "HD remake" is the exact game in HD, where as this is completely remade from the ground up in a new engine, ala the Resident Evil remake, which takes much more time and effort.

The original is still one of, it not my absolute favorite action/puzzle platformers of all time. This remake looks very well done. I'll definitely be picking it up for ps3.
