john conner really sucks at the hero thing now rather then a lengthy rant i want to say the clincher for this argument if john ever died skynet would cease to exist . thats right you heard me right you see if you remember correctly sky net is based on a cyborg that was sent back in time by skynet to kill johns mom so if sky net has no reason to send the first terminater back it wont be crashed by sarah and reverse enginired by cyberdyne sky net never built, reese will never have come back john would never have existed either and the cycle stops

before any one says it since its the turk 2 that they said gets turned into sky net my argument still works since turk 2 was only built cause sarah burned up the turk 1 and inspired that guy to make turk 2 tricky and with more of him in it and she only did that because of the whole time travel dilly .

if skynet had succeeded in killing sarah all those years ago it would have worked out all in our favor since it its self would have ceased to be since tecnicly sarah is like a mother to it as well so take that fictional conner familly savers of the earth yeah right

While the Terminator story is indeed a closed time loop, who's to say that there wasn't an original timeline where Sarah Connor lived a normal life until the original, human-created Skynet came online and took over?

The original Terminator movie did say that John Connor was living in one of the labor camps, before he started the revolution.

the terminator franchise is a stable time loop, when a paradox happens, the universe splits into two timelines- one where x happened and one where y happened. it is concievable that there is a timeline in the terminator universe where skynet never became self-aware.
