I prefer to draw while looking at the picture instead of tracing, but if i am doing a portrait of someone or something and they or it have/has distinctive features then i go in and trace that specific freature. But no I dont like tracing pictures much.

Thanks and I dont know what you mean by that?? Lol if you're asking if my drawings were done in chalk then no, they were done on my galaxy note 10.1. If you are asking if I go by the name Chalk then that is also a no. But I am glad you enjoyed my art :).

90% of an image being traced isn't much?

If you are reffering to the drawing of the crocodile, the reference image was very big and high res, so I decided trace the outline of it. Tracing the outline of an image is not tracing 90% of the image. Many portrait artists do trace an outline of the reference image. It wont make them or me any less of an artist because the brush strokes, the details and everything Else was done based entirely on their skills. We all have our ways to draw, and most portrait artists want their drawings to resemble whatever their reference maybe.
