3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsI think Resident Evil 4 is theb est Resident evil. I love the fusion of action and horror and the actual locatiosn of the game are nice too, and gameplay wise it's very detailed with stuff and has lots of variety.
I odn't really care for RE5 because that horror-action fusion is mainly taken away and gameplay is mainly just going through tight linear corridors which is even made worse by the fact you have a co-op partner, and boss fights have been reduced from massive "tactical" fighting to grabbing a giant machine gun and using more dakka against it
I agree that Resident Evil 4 is definitely the best in the series however Resident Evil 5 was my favorite, I thought the Co-op in it was actually pretty good!
It's a tie between 4 and the original for me. I could beat both blindfolded.

4 is the only great Resident Evil.
The stuff that came before is a drowned out by the host of better tank controls survival horror games around at the time, because they're all pretty middling games, and the stuff since 4 has gone too far down the action route. 4 has that perfect balance of horror, action and absurdity that made it a classic, but it's a very delicate balance. Stuff like 5, which on the face of it is basically the same game, tips just too far one way and it call falls to pieces.

4 is a great action horror. But I still love 2 and REmake as fuill on survival horror games. Plus REmake still looks so fucking good.

Tough toss up between 4, Original, REmake, and 2.
on the other hand, hope you never have or had to play Dead Aim, game is terrible....
i've played 1,3, and 4, and 4 is definitely the best, the atmosphere is excellent and very scary at parts, i find the insane villagers and demonic mutants more threatening than the zombies in the other games. the gameplay is also great, i love how the gunplay works, and the bosses are excellent. unfortunately it goes downhill a bit towards the end when you go the military base and the horror elements become less prominent.

Tried Resident Evil Survivor? Classy game. I wish I could say I hate it ,but I actually kind of like it, I suppose it has a certain charm which few games can duplicate.

I've only played 4, which was great. I played RE5 from the beginning up until after you set Uroboros on fire. I can't imagine playing through the whole thing would be worth the time because of Sheva. I'd think it would feel like one long escort mission. Screw that. The parts in RE4 with Ashley were bad enough.

I've changed my mind, the best Resident Evil is actually Dino Crisis, because it's the same game but with velociraptors and they're cooler than zombies.
4 is the only acceptable answer for reasons the others have stated.

I'm still hoping that one day, the first two Dino Crisis games will get a remake in the same way the first RE got remade.
I sunk so much time into RE5 and its mercenaries mode. I even beat it on professional mode. I played RE5 Gold edition, which fixed Sheva apparently, so I didn't have any of the problems people just love to complain about. I have a very unpopular opinion but I prefer RE5 over RE4. Following up is code veronica. I actually still remember everyone shitting themselves and saying 'dem graphics' of course I was like 6 and was impressed by that so I got it. It was my first resident evil so I get flashbacks of shitting myself.

Not into your space robot dinosaurs, then?

Dead Aim was fine though. Like seriously there's nothing wrong with other than maybe the length.

I've never had the chance to play Dino Crisis 3 unfortunately.

It's one of those rare games that is so shit it transcends it's awfulness and becomes something beautiful.
I'm going to have to go with Resident Evil 3. I've put more time into that game than any other Resident Evil game.

I LOVED Dino Crisis as a kid. It was actually the first M rated game I've ever played.

Perfect, I love those types of games. I could try and get myself a copy of it right now, but I haven't got a clue if it would play fine on a 360 at all, I don't have an original Xbox.

I just found it annoying switching between first and third person constantly.
You see, I have crippling amounts of brain damage. I also have a brain disease called "nostalgia" or something like that. So obviously the second one is the best game.
I wanna see the first three made into animated movies in the style of Resident Evil Degeneration and Resident Evil Damnation.
Resident Evil 4 undoutably. When it came out for Gamecube it was a huge game changer.
Next place would be Resident Evil 2 I think. I've never seen crossing storylines done that well.
i've never actually played any, but all my friends say i need to play either 2 or 4.
maybe one day I will.

Resident Evil Outbreak was a fun game, I wasn't so much of a fan of file 2 though, it had more to it but it kind of ruined the immersion with how much could be done and how open it was so I just found myself accidentally skipping stuff or just rushing stuff, and ended up getting a bad ending toi the game without realising it as you were supposed to not escape in time or something and idk, I can tell what they were going for, but the second just didn't have the same feeling to enjoying it.
I wish I could have done online gaming with it, but it got shutdown when I got it which was annoying.

If you're a fan of survival horror you'll love them. Also if you can tolerate old graphics and controls because Resident Evil 2 plays like a drunken village whore.
RE4 is the most fun to play.
The Game cube remake of the original is really good, but I can't stand playing it because. the controls make me wanna shoot myself in the face, and it permanently scarred me when I watched my older brother play it as a kid.
I find Resident Evil 1 to be the best, because its the only one that really felt like an actual survival horror to me (it seems as if that genre is dead now though) while all the others felt more like action thrillers. No matter what tag Game Reactor or PC gamer or any kind of gaming news organization slaps on RE4, it will never be a survival horror, nor will either of its successors. In terms of actual gameplay however, RE4 is the best. Great story, great gameplay, awesome character development, it actually EXPLAINS its subplots, and gives you more than one reason to keep playing, which is more than I can say for almost every other would-be horror game on the market right now.
Change is inevitable, all you can do is make sure it happens in your favor.
