As someone who knows a handful of songs and just strums barre chords most of the time, I can accurately deduce that I blow nard at guitar, but that's fine since I'm a bassist, or it WOULD be fine if I didn't blow at that too.
Here is a sample of my suck, playing the King of the Hill theme.
Now that you've witnessed my suck...
How good are you?
It's not that hard to be better than me, so if you want, you can upload a sample of your playing for us to judge your mastery of the shred stick.

Y'know, complete honesty here, that was a really cool recording. Kudos.

I guess I'm okay at guitar. I'm still pretty sucky.
But I've been playing for like 4 or 5 years. So I can't be that bad.
Can't play stuff like Neo Classical or shred on guitar or anything like that though.

I've been playing for about 6 or 7 years. I don't think I'm too bad anymore since I can pick up new songs pretty easily and I'm good with chords and scales.

I bought myself a guitar some years ago. Never played that much though, as I didn't really get any feeling for it. Sure it was fun and all, learning new songs and all that.
Taught myself this, which is pretty much my biggest accomplishment when it comes to playing the guitar. Pride.

I thought it was pretty cool. The droning sound adds a really interesting atmosphere to the song, kinda like something you would hear when somebody sacrifices themselves in a movie or some shit. And it's been rated almost 4/5 so obviously people think it's good. Few people ever critique their own work fairly, that's why we share it.

Haha well thanks. That is basically the extent of my guitar abilities though, playing single notes and changing every once in a while, so that's why I don't think much of my playing.

I can play but if you give me a guitar and tell me to play somthing then I'll give you a puzzled look. I haven't been able to play most of my favourite songs due to downtuning.

I've been teaching myself how to play guitar recently. The guys in the dorm next door have a couple acoustic guitars and a bass which I just play around on sometimes when I'm over there.

I guess petty mediocre. I started to play when I was 9 and practiced a lot until I quit my schools jazz band after my junior year. Now I don't practice anymore and it's just a dorm decoration. At least my dad plays the other twelve I left at home.

Shredding is awful.
Not going to record, but so you get an idea, I play songs like Wolves, Lower or This Charming Man fairly easily.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.

This was me 17 months ago. I really should get back into recording to put stuff on NG. Got a bunch of new stuff I've learned since then.

I'd say in terms of technical ability I'm pretty competent at playing guitar. I've been playing self-taught for a little over 10 years now, primarily been working on getting a better understanding of various jazz voicings and styles this past year or two. So yeah I'm pretty okay I guess.

Sounds good too me Piggler. I learned the King of the Hill theme on guitar a while back. Good stuff.
Well, you asked for a sample of my stuff. I have all my stuff on the audio forum and youtube. Here's the link to something I wrote: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/535603

Practicing for four hours a day for the first 4 years of my 7 years of experience, not to blow my own horn, but I'm pretty damn good. Sweeps, tapping, sweep-tapping, you name it.

I played for 5 or 6 years and got pretty good, but I found I just stopped improving after a while and it just got really stale for me. I'd say I've pretty much lost interest at this point, which is sad considering I have an electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitars all taking up space in my room, along with an amp. The thought of selling them makes me sad, though. :(

Thanks. My sister is decent at doing "Courtney Love and Brody Dale-esque" vocals.
