Should homeless in America migrate

south for the winter?

Winters in America can be harsh, and homeless shelters packed full: So why not move to warmer places like California, Texas or Florida?

They don't necessarily need to fly or drive to get there. But if they can walk, hitchhike or ride the rails then they will eventually make it.

Actually, right now in the Bay Area we're having nights as cold as 35. Which is unusual this early in December.

I thought you were going to suggest having them migrate to areas with lower population (like Montana or Wyoming) and help do something productive out there or something. That way those areas wont be like barren wastelands.....

As for them migrating south, while that would work for them, it'd cause a bit of unrest amongst the citizens of those areas.

Worthless people on the street who don't work, living off the system, only contributing to overpopulation and costing us money. From a political and economical standpoint, they're just malignant pests.

If I were homeless, I would get enough spare change to clean myself up and look presentable, look around for a job anywhere I could get one, work hard and earn enough money for a cheap, low-quality room in down-town, and go from there. At least I would have a room, a job, be clean, and have the necessities.

Then there are the disabled, mentally sick, and drug addicted homeless who have no chance of redemption, and will most-likely grow old and die on the streets. They should really just die. I had a sister like that. She's probably dead now.

Guys, just have one or two kids.

I don't know what the distribution of services/urbanization in most of America is like, but I know that there's a whole lot of nothing covering most of it. Unless you were following the Mississippi River, I can't see someone being able to travel that far and still have enough people to give them pocket change. It's just too damned far between rest stops if you're following the highway, and nobody will pick up a hitchhiker anymore.

If I was homeless I'd be able to instantly solve the problems in my life that lead to my homelessness. Hell I'd even be able to go without eating for two weeks and save up enough money to buy a suit. By that point I'd be the manager of a small business so I'd actually be better off than I am now. Damn lazy homeless people.

It's tough being homeless during the winter. Most homeless people are only temporarily homeless and have lives they're trying to build, where they live. But for those that are seeking a new horizon, or for those that are homeless for years at a time then perhaps this "migration" would be a wise thing.

This isn't a question. They already do migrate south cept its not migration. It's just taking up a new permenant residence
