It seemed like Joel was trying to have as much at an event he did not want to attend. He had some good moments. I just don't like the idea of big award shows for video games. The people who watch this type of show are geared towards certain types of games, and the user voted categories never feel legitimate.

Actually, now that I think about it, I hate awards in general. If the awards that are given out are not based on factual results, they feel meaningless to me.

The Last of Us may have had an interesting premise, however I think it did many things wrong.
It was a Zombie game. There's no denying it. The Cauliflower guys were zombies, despite their fungal origins.
I mean it didn't really try to do anything "New". It played it safe and took the route of traditional titles, while adding in possibly one of the most overused plot devices and still attempted to be a big serious exercise in character development. The amount of bandits you kill in the game is ridiculous when this is supposed to be a post apocalyptic setting. Along with that some points of the game are hard beyond belief. Enemies that one hit kill, the attacks that sometimes don't even work, etc. It is also kind of weird how the AI suicidally charges at you and the best part is how the PLOT IMPORTANT SIDEKICK can do whatever the fuck and not get noticed when you're in stealth mode. Ellie has little to no purpose in the game, which led me to wonder WHY SHE WAS EVEN IN THE GAME. I understand you can call story, but story should COMPLIMENT game-play, not dictate. Back to the characters, ND wanted us to sympathize with Joel and Ellie, really make us feel like they were the underdogs. But they're not. Over the course of they game they did things that make the COUNTLESS murders of the SUPPOSED LAST HUMANOIDS, seem like NOTHING! Joel sacrificed THE ENTIRE human race for ONE GIRL, and we're supposed to sit there and say "YAY! HE SAVED HER!"? They didn't even get punished for what they did!
