arming civilians in america

the media keeps telling stories to me and or you about the usefulness of arming civilians that can step in and kill someone that is breaking the law with a firearm..

is this legit or are a lot of people dieing as a result of this armist is way that is not benefiting the law or society*

criminals do not help society*
good people help society*
good people with guns help society*

No one endorses viligantism. Frankly the question you are asking is silly because no one buys a gun thinking that they are going to be batman. And if they are, they shouldn't own a firearm in the first place.

I carry a handgun everyday. You know what happens if someone starts shooting people where I'm at? I hide like everyone else and hope he doesn't come for me. If he does, I pop him. The whole idea of carrying a firearm is to not be confrontational.

Are you going to let your ego push you into a fight with someone else that could potentially cost someone their life? Nope. You're going to be a decent person from any sort of argument or confrontation. The only time you use that weapon is when you have no choice. Not to do a cop's job.

People who would go and attempt to do that, are dumbasses. Why? Because the cops cover for eachother. They are less likely to get in trouble and get charged with murder/manslaughter/wrongful death because they've had the training to decide when lethal force is necessary. Cowboy wannabe gunslingers make all of us who carry look bad, and they usually end up going to prison for a long time when shit hits the fan and they kill/injure someone needlessly. I don't carry looking for trouble. I carry in case the worst should happen and my back is against the wall.
