He was an asshole, i agree with that, but there are no evil men, only evil deeds.
And if you label someone or a group of people evil, then it invokes the desire to punish or inflict pain towards those, and it helps you turn off feelings towards the ''evil'' people you are harming, which is also why Hitler called the Jews evil.
Now i do agree that NewgroundsMike has a 1000 times more right to call Hitler evil than Hitler to call Jews evil, but i don't agree with the term evil being used on people, ever.

I see your point there. I think it's different when you're dealing with an individual though.
For example, if you said "Germans are evil" you'd have a hard time demonstrating that the German people as a whole are evil, and like you said it's a bad way of thinking.
For a person like Hitler though, it's very easy to look at the man's actions and draw a conclusion about what he was like. Still human, and not a monster, but clearly capable of doing very evil things. An evil man.
