3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsI am currently undergoing some stress at the moment in terms of a lack of job and finance, and in particular it is hurting my family (I will not talk about in plain sight). However, in order to keep Colour Matching updates flowing, I wish to share with you a preview of the current build of Colour Matching as it currently stands.
There is very little to it at the moment, but I need another developer who is willing to pick up the project and do some stuff for me. There will be payment, of course, and it will solely depend on my finances.
I will talk about payments later, firstly I want to grab your attention to the meat of the game.
What is Colour Matching?
Colour Matching is a video game about matching colours, which represents a form of multiple genres put together. Let's say Space Invaders meets Strategy Role Playing. You heard me. In its most basic description: Match colours and activate spells to stay alive and keep the timer above 0, all while fighting off the enemies the timer spawns, moving your character to avoid being hit and strategically understand the situation and adopt to it accordingly.
There will be things like weather and atmosphere that will influence the behaviour of spells (there are multiple spell categories such as Fire and Molten, Ice and Water, plus more).
It has not been updated yet
Colour Matching was undergoing some regular updates; but unfortunately I've been plagued by the very mental conditions that prevents me from continuing the project in Stencyl. I keep changing my mind on where I want to develop Colour Matching, what platform it should be on; it is an ongoing battle against myself to try and get PROGRESS done, and it is an evil thing that is quite literally killing the project. I already have one contract with music production company Versilian Studios, consisting of Samulis, Skye Wintrest, Nimble and Troisynx.
What I would like is someone to pick up this project who does not have the same problems as me, someone that has either Stencyl knowledge, or even better, knowledge of ActionScript 3 to develop it. I am a developer, but my skills lie in Visual Basic, not Flash.
So what's the deal?
Currently I am having to draw the graphics AND make the game, which is a lot of work especially considering I am also attending college on Wednesday's in order to progress forth on my Vocational Degree in Business.
The deal consists of a revenue plan on Newgrounds, which will spread out into a Standalone client of Colour Matching later on down the road. There are a variety of other things I am planning as well, such as a Pay-What-You-Want system that covers things like an Art eBook, OST, the game itself, and Guaranteed Alpha or Beta access to later versions of the game.
My ambitions are huge, and I will probably extend the game by making it on MonoGame with C#, where my expertise lies; of course, this will be later on.
Time on this game will depend on how regularly I am able to draw graphics; I would prefer to do that over making a game in an environment I have little experience in.
Please email brutalexcess@gmail.com for your application to develop Colour Matching with me. Instructions will be in the form of Documents, which I have several already on my computer. There are multiple interface designs where certain key components need to be located accordingly - this is extremely important to follow. What I do not have is logic plans, which I will be making to help you develop Colour Matching to my desires - you will have freedom in the coding of course, but the way the game is built is specific.
We will discuss payments, deals and instructions in a verbal agreement later on Skype, so if you are interested please include in your application your Skype username.
You may wish to talk about this game among people across multiple networks if you wish; there is no such thing as NDA's or any other such thing as I wish to invite promotion, I think it is healthy for the game.
Other than that, let me know of anything I may have missed out below and I will get back to you.
I like the foundations of the gameplay, it could lead to something interesting. If you're not going to be programming this anymore, it may be in your best interest to post any graphics that are done for the game. In addition to this, I get the feeling from reading your post that you're purely in it for the profits the game may bring. From personal experience, but with no offence to you, I find it hard to work with people only interested in the money. It drives the project in a direction not governed by creativeness, which some may find unappealing. But you most definitely will get people who enjoy working on projects aimed at monetising the final product, so good luck to you.
I'd consider it, but it's made in Stencyl, you're not looking for a programmer, you're looking for a monkey trained to stack coloured blocks until they work. I'd suggest looking for someone in a Stencyl forum.

Oh wow, sorry, I missed a paragraph in your post, a very important paragraph. :X
Shoot me a PM, and I'll consider doing it depending on what you actually want done, I can only barely understand how the game is suppose to be played.

That is not true, while money is a bonus I still think creativity is better than focusing on profit, but I have to maintain focus in all areas if I am to use my business skills later down the line. The PWYW system is something that I adore, and it is something I am willing to implement, but it is not something I am entirely focusing on.
I am very creative and very ambitious, profits is something I will be looking for, but if that cannot be achieved then no worries. My aim is to make this game unique and original to the best of my ability in the hope to profit, I know I cannot guarantee that. I am very pro-consumer, so I want customers to feel like they are given choices rather than restricted to certain fixed prices.
