See this is where I think I disagree with you. If you went back to any of the old African kingdoms you could've made the same arguments. You know the Gold Coast (where most the slaves sent to America came from) was like a third slaves? Hell, going back to West Africa you hear soooo much fucking racism to other tribes, you may as well argue that any descendants of the Akhan are also oppressors having benefitted from the subjugation of other peoples.

The Maori of New Zealand would all be oppressors by virtue of having gotten rid of their rivals by genocide, giving their descendants more resources to inherit. Every person who benefitted from anyone in any previous generation's stupid misdeads is an oppressor by your logic. There is no distinction made based on a person's own actions, we are all fated to be oppressors.

Which is fine if you believe it, but renders the moniker "oppressor" worthless and lets the real oppressors off the hook.
