Yes. Follow the "WWA" or "What happened? When did it happened (or most recent time)? How did it affect you?" Tell the douche that and try not to be negative at all and just ignore any negative comments he makes. And then you could ask him nicely to tell her the truth. Then with the girl, you can tell her what happened to the best of you memory and hope she believes you. Or, and I wouldn't recommend this, maybe you could admit that you were bragging even if you weren't and seek forgivenss and sincerely apologize.. but it seems like a sketchy idea.

But, how could this have been avoided? Well, let's take a look at the R.A.M. (Relationship Attachment Model). Each slide would represent how much you guys know, trust, rely, commit, and touch (which is sexual touch) each other. Each slide shouldn't be higher than the one before it. But, Touch is higher than Commit and it's probably higher than Trust too. You see, if she was 100% sexual with you but her trust was at like 60%, it will eventually cause problems. Like it did. If she trusted you enough, she would believe you and your "friend" would just look stupid.

Don't be friends with him.
