I think it is difficult, and perhaps futile, to compare the two Tron movies: Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010).
Now, both Tron movies bear the imprimatur for what’s possible for computer generated visual effects, but in truth, Tron and Tron: Legacy are two different movies made by different teams using different technologies.
Both Tron and Tron: Legacy share the same general concept—that is, the main character getting sucked into a world inside a computer where escape is impossible but can only be found somewhere across the Sea of Simulation—but execute it in a different spirit, heart, and soul.
And it’s all because of the differences in age, right?
And do you agree with what I said about the two Tron movies?

I'll be seeing the original soon, never saw the remake and most likely never will.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.
ScaryPicnic made me do it.My letterboxd.

I agree that they're both awesome movies and that you should buy and watch both of them.
Yes the 1980s movie won't have the graphical capabilities used in the newer movie. They are both awesome though.
Some of the Gex video games had Tron-themed levels FYI. There are also Tron-themed lightcycle games and there is a Tron arcade game.
If there was a Tron theme park I'd visit. Closest thing I know of that exists is lazer tag.

I really like the new Tron's art style, what with all the glowy blue lines all over everything.

Have seen both, liked Legacy better mainly due to visual effects and the backstory of the ISOs.
Those who do not learn from the mistakes of their past are doomed to repeat them.

Either way, Disney ruins whatever it touches. Which is why i will never touch the remake.
Also, Disney is getting too big, I say we unmask their secret plot to take over the world before it is too late!
REMEMBER MICKY IS NOT GOD! FIGHT THE POWER!

I have to see the fist one still, also I want to compare Total Recall (1990) to Total Recall (2012) and Judge Dredd (1993) to Dredd (2012).

I like the first one. It's not a great movie, but it's entertaining.
Second one didn't leave any impression on me at all.

But disney was not as powerful back then as it is now! If Walt Disney saw what his empire would become. He would have invested more money so it would happen faster!
This is a sig you dumbass.
