Christ you people are a bunch of vindictive assholes. I don't agree with a lot of what Wriggle says but he deserves as much respect concerning this matter as anybody with this same troubling problem regardless of whatever irrelevant opinion he's had that you disagree with.

To the OP: Any accusation of Rape should be thoroughly investigated, don't take this lightly because the law sure as hell won't. Comply completely and totally no matter how indignant or disrespectful the questions they ask or the things they ask for are. I know it must be infuriating to be handled like that in a case where you are certain you are innocent, its bullshit, but this is the legal system we got and it ain't going anywhere. So in this case, as ridiculous and hypocritical as it is, you have to PROVE your innocence, get a lawyer, get your side of things down on paper, be prepared to answer anything like cases of domestic violence or past criminality out in the open and make sure that you prove those things did not matter in this case if they come up. Prove that the night in question was fully consented sex.

On the chance that you really did rape her and they can prove that, all I got to say is, at least you'll have a nice group of people with similar ideology waiting for you on the inside. Sure hope it doesn't come to that though...

Okay this isn't the time to blame him. I highly doubt this guy was battering her and threatening her, so she wouldn't have any reason to not leave. Women that lie about being raped are only about 1-2% of reported rapes. If what she's saying is true, then the OP should face justice. But if what the OP is saying is true, then go to trial. If she doesn't have any evidence to support her claim (which she probably doesn't since he hadn't seen her in a while), then she'll face charges of her own for false information. Since you had an established relationship, the court would probably find her claim unfounded.

Unfortunately real rape victims are also treated that way in the court system if they're raped by their boyfriends/ex boyfriends. But if what you're saying is true and she's lying about it, I wish you the best of luck because that's something that's hard to live down, even if you're found innocent.
