Many people donate blood to the American Red Cross or other organizations that conduct blood drives. The blood is used to save the lives of those who may be suffering from cancer, those who are about to undergo major surgery, gunshot victims, car accident victims, etc.
Few people donate, and even fewer donate more than once, so I've made it my goal to donate as much as possible. I just donated for the tenth time last week.

then make a incentive, when you "donate" plasma you can donate twice a week and get compensation, why not do that with blood? you have to donate X amount of times (say for argument 10 times) then you get on the incentive program and to continue being in it you have to continuously donate to receive said incentive.

in a perfect world maybe, but our is far from that and Altruism is not part of the human condition. plus were only talking maybe like 20 bucks for a donation. plus if it attracts people and helps supplement the blood supply I don't see why not.
