Should of posted this last week but I have been very, very busy....
Who has heard?
Zimmer himself and the Spitfire team are creating a brand new cinematic percussion library...
Here is the video:
Here is the link to the announcement:
Hans describes that each percussive instrument has its own identity, each sounding unique in their own way.
They say they will basically deliver the sounds exactly like Han's percussion... Instead of 'trying' to intimidate his peruccsion...
'The thing is to get a great sound, you need a great sound engineer'... So their is a couple of great engineers that are taking part, what Hans is trying to do is to show you how important it is with percussion from different perspectives as a great sound engineer..
From the Spitfire Audio website:
"HZ CINEMATIC PERCUSSION ANNOUNCED
Everyone at Spitfire is delighted to announce commencement of our most exciting project so far. Produced by Hans Zimmer and his team, Spitfire is due to release the most definitive collection of cinematic style percussion to-date.
Recorded in the hall at Air-Studios by Geoff Foster and performed by the same players on the same instruments and techniques as films such as INCEPTION, THE RING, HANNIBAL AND NOLAN’S BATMAN TRILOGY, mixed by Alan Meyerson in LA and presented to you the “Spitfire way” this one is going to be a corker. Accept no imitations, this is the way it’s done, by the man who invented it and the greatest exponent of it.
Your speakers are going to hate you for it.
Once we have a clearer idea of what the package will entail we will post info here.
Due out early 2013." I think they might mean 2014.....
Will this top the Percussion libraries out their in the market with Cinematic percussion? Hmmm... This sounds very interesting....

Was speaking to them on their Facebook. It comes in two sets. 1st Set is recorded in London, the next is Los Angeles. Release is scheduled for November 2013.
=D
Ive been excited for it for years, it was put back due to Hans Zim's projects. Hoping it wont be too expensive, but with Hans name to it, im sure it will be.

I like how in every video that I see of him Zimmer looks as if he just pulled an all nighter working in his mad-scientist-musician laboratory-studio, hah.

I really was hyped for it to come out a while a go and then never heard of it since... If it is less than $300, I might ask for it for a present xD
