This case is so weird, that the dark influence is the only explanation close to rationality.
Very strange, at some point you stop trying to explain things as coincidence and begin to believe that larger forces are at work here.
Those who do not learn from the mistakes of their past are doomed to repeat them.
Can someone post text here or PM me it? I'm quite antirivusless today, and don't browse weird sites.

Nah it's safe. My userscript didn't bug.
That's fucking eerie man, even for an atheist like me.
She accidentally the teleportation.
Doesn't sound any more mysterious than "she most likely killed herself" to me.
The article mentions that she was most likely bi-polar· if he had any other problems with her mental health, that could explain it.

Eventualy a day when you'll buy something for your own money and learn to respect it will come.
She probably just tripped and fell onto the tank.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.

Thanks for PM.

Yeah, but how and why did she get to the rooftop, over the edge of water tank? Considering all the coincidences I'm not sure, if she was just mentally ill, there was some sick fuck who likes horror movies, or it was pure coincidence.

She was high as a kite.

Autopsy showed nothing. Also the body was naked for some reason?
The building looks tall enough that jumping would be fatal, so I also don't know why she would choose drowning as a better alternative if suicide was the intention.
Then again if she was mentally unwell, I'm guessing it could've made sense to her at the time.

But apparently there were no drugs involved.

Still, how can you explain the lift malfunction? Will you mark it as a "coincidence"? There are many "coincidences" here.

I'm not familiar with how lifts works, but I'm speculating it could be possible for an operator of some kind to stop the door from closing - which would point towards murder.
Maybe the lift was actually malfunctioning, and the opening and closing towards the end of the clip is a "system reboot" or something. As mentioned, I'm not a lift technician, so I don't know the specific quirks a lift may have. What do you think is the most plausible reason?

At first, I thought the same, especially since she was bi-polar.
But what is really strange is the elevator.
It never closed or functioned properly until she left.
Not only that, but all elevators must have an alarm go off if the door does not close after a certain amount of time, not to surpass 2 minutes I believe? And this one was most certainly opened longer than that.
And ever since I had heard about the news story, I also wondered how she got up there, since all hotel rooftops have to be locked by law as well, and this particular hotel even had an alarm system up there.
But what was really truly strange, the big kicker, was the tuberculosis outbreak that happened nearby in Skid row in which the test kit used for that is named exactly like her.
At 10/28/13 02:13 PM, Havegum wrote: What do you think is the most plausible reason?
Well, I think we can scratch the idea of paranormal activities since no one's going to believe that. Just mix it up:
LIFT MALFUNCTION + WEIRD BEHAVIOR + LIFT WORKING AFTER SHE LEAVES + SUICIDE (POSSIBLY MURDER) = ?
What caused the lift to stop? It could have been the murderer, as you said. But then the murderer has to be someone who's working at the hotel.

I had no idea about the elevators having an alarm for that. Though if I understand the article correctly, the hotel was "sketchy", and maybe everything wasn't according to protocol? A serious system malfunction could still explain it I suppose, and of course if someone knew how to operate the lift and circumvent those safety measures, that would explain both the elevator and how she got on the roof. Otherwise, the news report mentioned a fire escape could work as an alternate way up.
The test kits could be explained by somebody having seen the name on the news the week before and decided to go with that.

Current or previous employee, or possibly anyone who knew that specific hotels security systems and their workarounds. It's not unthinkable to have appropriate access· motive on the other hand, I can't imagine.

Simple. She tried some mushrooms, but barfed, leaving just enough on her system to cause hallucinations but not enought to be detected because they were quickly metabolised.
Thus she was in a mild high, undressed, jumped on the water, drowned, two weeks later, no drugs were detected.

That stuff about the Cecil Hotel makes me want to read up on it's dark and eerie history. I mean he Black Dahlia murder was mentioned. Now about Elisa Lam that's very odd but given the reputation of the hotel she could have just been out of her mind and wanted to kill herself.
I think if she was white there'd be no mystery, her death would've been ruled a homicide long ago.
The explanations I've seen for this shit are wilder than the actual case itself.
A textcee without boundaries.
Thats kinda creepy o.O
Though I thought that part of the video when her arms and hands were moving all weird was creepier than the story itself.

Nah thats just crazy.
So crazy...it just might work.
