Team Fortress 2
Great community , great gameplay , its free , its updated about every 1-5 month , has one of the best item systems , it does have a premium system but you can play the game very well without it , its one of the few humorous fps out there

I agree. TF2 is truly an incredible game. I can't get enough of it. xD

Deus Ex is up there.

Vampire the Masquerade was a great game and I loved it.

There's so many, another one is (for me) Fallout New Vegas/3

Honestly, apart of Dishonored, BioShock Infinite and the last Tomb Raider, there's few which I at least enjoyed to play recently...
So my personal favorite are quite old:

DOOM
Age of Wonders
Advent Rising
SoulBringer
Overlord

And WitchaveN, that hauted my memory until this year when I manage to find it (I was a child and I didn't remember its name)...
