What does your setup look like? Mine is mostly second-hand screens and wires. I don't have the money for anything significant. I have a few more toys and a mixer but they are not pictured.

I have no picture... But my studio looks like a desk with a midi keyboard, 1 screen, another desk where I write my music on and then my piano next to it xD Pretty simple right?

That's still much more advanced than mine. I have an 18 year old computer, that has been dead for at least 7 years at the head end of my. At nigh, when I go to sleep, I sometimes have a musical dream I can never remember what it's about. Only the feelings linger. The next morning I glimpse the monitor of the computer glows. When I turn my head to see, the computer dies again. Nothing happens when I try to turn it back on. I stop thinking about it, and go about my business. I forget about it and think it never happened. But after a while, usually during midday or evening, one of my friends calls me and says how they like "my new song". So I'm like "What song?" and I borrow one of my home mates' cell phones to browse the internet and listen to that new song by me that has emerged on the internet. When I hear it, all the feelings of the dream I had return, and i know it indeed is my song. I wish I had a piano and a working computer though. Sounds like fun.

But then you can't record, and that'd be a waste.

I would rather play piano than record, but I can't get away from my piano... My piano is distracting me from me practicing piano a lot... I wanted to be a pianist, not a composer :/

It's more of a hybrid setup since Im an artist/animator. So although I could do with bass traps, and pads on the walls to absorb the sound, graphics wise it has to be the opposite as the room has to maintain its cool throughout the night as it renders large sequences.

The BX5a are great for editing and monitoring as they are flat, and the Logitech's Z2300 are great and warm for listening. The 2 x Dell monitor u2410 are great for graphics, best monitors ive used. I'm considering buying a matrox eventually and hooking up a 40inch television above the screens for synced editing while making music and editing. I think priority is to make some canvas's for trapping any bounce of sound.

Ikea! £18 each. £10 for the top, and £2 for each leg. Just bought a bunch of them. Can't go wrong! ;)

One day I'll actually try to get good pics of my studio. It's 7ft x 11ft x 7ft though so yeah...might be tough.

Red: iLok Key
Blue: Creative subwoofer + speakers
Yellow: KORG microKEY

And don't mind the (incredibly manly) wall paint. I've had this room since I was a little kid.

@JacobCadmus, I like the wall-mounted motif you've got going on there.

I've got a decent mbox that came with my Pro-tools bundle.. but.. seriously.. FL Studio fo' Life.

Here's my humble studio.. not much going on here besides the bare minimum(there's a mic hidden behind that pop filter). Not pictured is my trusty tenor saxophone and a list pinned above my keyboard of all the shit I need to be doing besides posting on NG.

Hehe thanks. Whene we looked to get our own place, we wanted some 'studio space' too. When I lived with my folks it was all crammed into one small room, sometimes I look about thinking how I ever did it!

You too! Your setup (and most of you guys) will have a better sounding setup as you have some good sound proofing in it.

Just by thinking of the last thread and this one, loads of us have the m-audio keystation, except for step, he has this little cute thing.

true dat. I'm sure it's based around similar standards; mine being that I needed at least 61 keys semi-weighted. as far as I know, the Keystation is the cheapest MIDI board that meets those standards.
