Durian is regularly imported to Asian food stores. I bought some last Summer and held a durian challenge. The most agreed upon descriptions were:

1)texture of scrambled eggs
2)smells like a used baby diaper
3)smells like a dumpster
4)tastes like maple syrup
5)maybe it'd be better fresh instead of frozen

Star fruit is ok. Meh. Most tropical fruits that we don't regularly eat are nothing special IMO.
Durian was fine but it was frozen flesh, I didn't actually buy the whole fruit.... I probably shouldn't lol.
