The whole point of the spelling reform was to make it easier.

The "u" is removed from words such as "colour" because there is no "u" sound in the word, just like how in U.S. English "grey" is spelled "gray" because of the "a" sound, "centre" is spelled "center" because of the "er" sound, and "laser" is spelled "lazer" because of the "zzz" (as in "buzz") sound.

Color and colour dont specify the same sounds. Color would sound more like cul-OR if pronounced correctly, while colour pronounced correctly would be cul-ER, which is how the word sounds. Therefore the american one isnt correct.

But...it's part of the rainbow and the thread is for your favorite color that does not appear in the rainbow.
So anything thats not: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, or Violet.

Personally, I've never seen Mountain Green color in the rainbow.
