That's not as true as a lot of neckbeards would have you believe.

Typically what happens is some chick posts something relevant about being a female, and a neckbeard that isn't used to any sort of female interaction gets offended and posts something like "OMG STAWP BRAGGING ABOUT BEING A GURL" and then accuses anyone who points out how socially retarded they are of being a "white knight".

It depends on where you wander. On Newgrounds you shouldn't have much trouble. Except maybe on the General Forum. Obviously if you end up on a website inhabited by social-awkwards, sexually-frustrated boys or trolls... then yeah, you'll get a lot of undesired "attention" just because you're a female. You'll either be their greatest fantasy, or you'll end up being their outlet or release of hatred toward women.

But like I said earlier, it really depends on the place and the people you'll come around.

I don't know. I think it's because the majority of the people here are male gender. It's like being in a class with only guys and then a girl steps in. Or the complete opposite. Some other reason might be that a lot of people here are lonely or don't have chance on girls IRL. That's just IMHO...

well i think entice's answer is dead on for the most part for how this started but i think its actually just steroiotype now from back when only hyper nerds were online since backthen females going online was kinda taboo back then they kinda swamed such females for "getting them" and not bullying such people for being on the internet. now i think its only perpetuated now because people still beleive the sterio type of all people on the internet being desperite overweight guys who cant get dates and are slightly perverted who glom ontoo any female they encounter online and obsess but i think now this happens alot less because most people online are requlair people

Yeah, they need to check their fucking privilege.

But really, it's threads like these, with females pointing out their rarity and special status within a community. Yes, while the Newgrounds community is mostly male, there are a decent amount of females who are just regular posters like the rest of us, Gagsy for example. You don't need to point out you're female unless that's what you're posting about. It isn't important online.

truth be told i dident even know it was an issue untill i read this post but there are some people who have trouble handeling guys i ve always had an easier time talking to girls since i lived with my mom and sister for along time with not alot of males around so i can see how other guys could prefer talking to women rather then other men

however i never really thought knowing gender was inportant online unless your on a dating site
