Did you know?

You are mostly empty space because there is a large amount of empty space between the nuclei of an atom and its electrons.

Well, that is if you don't consider quantum mechanics and the wave/particle duality of electrons...

Dark matter clusters which are photographed by astronomers tend to be identified as highly concentrated manifolds which gravitationally lens light in distinct ways. A direct photograph of Dark Matter often displays multiple images of eclipsed galaxies because the light from the object is captured by the gravity well and bent toward Earth.

Dark Matter objects billions of light years in length have been found.

Example: object CL0024+17 imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope is a ring of Dark Matter.

You are not actually sitting on the chair you are on right now, but levitating above it at a height of one angstrom, because your electrons and the chair's electrons are repelling each other, because of their negatively charged fields.

Light takes 40,000 years to travel from the core of our Sun to the surface, and then 8 minutes to reach Earth.

In a vacuum, Photons travel about 299,792,458 meters per second.

Model Cindy Crawford is from DeKalb, Illinois, which happens to be the same town that barbed wire was invented in AND the movie "At Any Price" was filmed in.

It also happens to be my hometown.

Oh, and it's pronounced Dee-kelb or Deh Kelb, NOT Deh Kahlb

Yeah, I noticed that the only people who pronounce it right are from here, or they know somebody who lived here at one point.

You pretty much pronounce the "al" in the "Kalb" part as "el"

Getting back on topic, De Kalb is also known for having Northern Illinois University (yes, that's the same college that had the school shooting on Valentine's Day around 4-5 years ago), some of the best damn corn, and the yearly music festival "Corn Fest", which has rides, games, food, music, and is free to enter. Hell, Corn Fest even has a free corn on the second day that's cooked using a steam tractor. Hell, 38 Special played at it a few years back.

The common house fly has the biggest sperm size.

Both Andrew W.K., Weird Al Yankovic, Gabe Newel, and Markus "Notch" Persson are bronies. deadmau5 wore a Fluttershy shirt, but then said on twitter that it was just to mess with bronies. He then posted that he prefers Rainbow Dash anyway.

Episode 9 of RWBY has the Achievement Hunter "Boy Band" poster on screen for a few seconds.

Both Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and Cindi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" make an appearance in Bioshock: Infinite, in both the original versions and early-1900s style covers

Grey De Lisle, known for her roles as Frankie on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Mandy in Billy & Mandy, and Vicky on Fairly Odd Parents, is the voice of Derpy in Epic Rage Time: The Incredible Derp

Both Ed Robertson of "Barenaked Ladies" and Elijah wood have worked with RoosterTeeth productions a few times. Ed was Captain Butch Flowers in Red VS Blue, and the title character of the 5 episode "Captain Dynamic" video "series" they did, and Elijah was the voice of Sigma on Red VS Blue.

Joel Heyman of RoosterTeerh Productions, known for his role of Micheal J. Caboose on Red VS Blue, has made a few TV appearances, including Criminal Minds.

In the episode of "Castle" where a murder happens at a comic/sci-fi/fantasy convention, Castle mentions a few tv shows that were cancelled and had big fandoms. He ends the list by saying, and I quote, "that one Joss Whedon show". That show was Firefly, which Nathan Fillion, who plays Castle, was on.

A Bioshock movie was planned to be released in 2011, and was gonna be directed by the same guy who directed "Pirates of the Carribean", but there have been so many issues, including studios refusing to produce such an expensive project with a violent theme, and budget issues making it hard to film overseas and causing the director to change. It has officially stopped, but Ken Levine, the creative director on the games, hopes that one day they can make an adaptation that both he and the producers would agree on.

Vin Diesel is a fan of DnD. His tattoo on his stomach in XXX was a nod to his DnD character, and he even wrote the forward for one of the books.

Robert Pattinson hates the Twilight saga, and has stated in multiple interviews that he played his character as a manic-depressive who hates himself.

De Kalb has "The Cornival" too? How many Cornivals are there in Illinois? o.O
