How to embed vids on newsposts

I always get this message when I used the Embed Video button and paste a youtube link:
"Sorry, that is not valid embed code from an allowed site."

Go to Youtube and click Share and then embed. Copy the code you see and then paste it into the embed code section in your newspost and hit submit. That should work.

Hey, I know OP's question has been answered, but I have a similar question:

How do you embed Newgrounds video files on your newspost or websites outside of Newgrounds (facebook/twitter)
I've just noticed that ricepirate has pulled it off, and I'm assuming he's using custom HTML. But I'm wondering if anyone here knows if its a feature on the site.

I can't seem to delete my swf file on my projects to try it out. And they seemed to have gotten rid of the feature to chose which file is seen desktops.

Any ideas anyone?

How about the basic code for embedding a flash? You just need to view page source on a submission page and copy the location URL. As long as NG doesn't prevent hotlinking...

I don't think it's an official feature yet, though it's been spoken of. Would be great if they could simplify the process and make it officially allowed. :)
