You know I've noticed alot of people complaining about how Nintendo downgraded the 3DS... Where was all the bitching and moaning over the 4GB XBox 360, or the 12GB PS3. or the launch 20GB PS3 with now WiFi.
Functionally the only thing it's missing is the 3D, and a lot of don't even care about that and as long as I'm bringing up GB the 2DS come with a 4GB SD card more then the standard 3DS for lord knows what reason. I suppose you could say that the issue with the smaller hard drives could be fixed by getting a bigger one separate but if that's how you feel then what's the problem, it's the same deal with the 2DS, just get a 3DS or 3DS XL instead.

Exclusive titles
That doesn't matter, if I prefer Gears of War, or Halo, any other exclusive over those of Sony's then it doesn't matter about how many there are, Sony has a lot of exclusives coming up, but many don't have release dates, many of available on PC and many are Indie games.
It's quality, not quantity that matters.
the inclusion of a Kinect systemBecause that worked so well before. The Wii's controls were smoother, and even Sony joined the bandwagon with its PSMove.
Some people enjoy the Kinect. The Wii and PSMove are both different as they require the use of an external peripheral. The kinect also features gestures, I can swipe my hand to scroll through my netflix suggestions, it monitors my heart rate and pulse (great for fitness games). Microsoft is trying to reach a broad audience and this is a factor that a lot of people will consider, especially casual members.
staying within the Xbox/Windows eco systemWhy is that a selling point?
What do you mean? I might not want to lose all of the games on XBL, I might want to keep my Gamerscore, I might want to enjoy my gaming on my Windows Phone, on my Windows PC and on my Xbox One and have a unified hub for all my activities.
controller layout preferencesSounds exactly like Steam. Nothing original about that either.
You misunderstand, I mean the layout of the gamepad, the controller, some people will find the Xbox pad more ergonomic than the PS4 pad. It's a matter of preference.
TV integrationThe Wii could already watch TV and Netflix. Still nothing new.
The Xbox can watch any channel assuming you have a TV Box of some kind, it's the idea of having all your media on one device. Hence the name "Xbox One".
Voice gesturesInnovative, yet conceptually flawed. What if there's background noise? What if someone else shouts out something you don't want as a prank?
People have been using voice gestures for some time now on Xbox 360 with few problems. How often is heavy background noise really going to be an issue? When I'm doing the hoovering? I doubt something like construction outside would be so loud that it affects the Kinect voice recognition. I can't really see pranks being much of an issue, they're just going to disrupt it for themselves and not just you.
cloud gaming
Again, like Steam. Nothing new there.
You've misunderstood the concept, Steam features cloud saves, but not cloud gaming. When I saw Cloud Gaming I mean that there are several games already planned that will use processing power from Xbox One's at Microsoft over the cloud in order to improve the game experience, better ai, smoother textures, etc.
Smart Glass integration. From what I understand, Smart Glass turns your phone into XBox One's Gamepad.
No, that's not what it is. Smart Glass enables a number of features, if you're played a game you might have a map available on your Phone or Tablet, or stastical information, or your inventory. It also allows you to control most functions on your Xbox, for example, I have my speakers connected to my Xbox, using Smart Glass I can stream my Music to my Xbox and control playback with my phone in another room, or if I'm watching Netflix, rather than quitting out of what I'm watching I can browse the selection on my phone and then push my choice to my Xbox without any interruption.
There's a number of reasons you'd choose an Xbox One over a PS4, it's all a matter of personal preference, but just because you prefer one over the other doesn't mean you have to attempt to belittle the Xbox One.
I don't have to "attempt", and I can't be called a "fanboy" because my preference for consoles is neutral. Although I mentioned Steam numerous times in my replies, due to the fact that I have become innately familiar with it, I don't prefer it over companies like Sony or Nintendo. Heck, I'm not even planning to purchase an eighth-generation console because it's not worth it. To sum up what I already said, nothing about the XBox One separates it from any other video game platform, which explains my hate for it: it's the blandest of the bland. Keep in mind that I didn't come up with that assertion myself; I only withdrew information from the facts. Therefore, if either one of us is a "fanboy", it's you.
Neutrality trumps bias
You're really obviously biased and I don't really see much point in keeping this argument up. You describe the Xbox as bland because it does nothing to differentiate it from the other consoles, while the only console I can really say that is different and unique is the Wii U, and when you get down to it all it really has over it's previous generations of consoles is the gamepad, which I don't really find that enticing. You're still just going to watch TV, and play Mario and Zelda on it.
What do the PS4 and Wii U offer that's really going to make me want to play their consoles over the Xbox One? Please don't reply to that here, this conversation is much better suited in either the Xbox One thread or the PS4 Thread.
illicit makes a damn good signature.

Remember how bullshit the gameboy micro was? Nintendo has to go through some phase every once in a while. Basically, when they have good ideas they siphon all the bad ones into a jar of evil and stupidity. Sometimes the jar overflows and they need to dump all of their stupid ideas into a catalyst. Usually it comes in the form of 3D Pokemon games but sometimes it comes in the form of hardware.

What's the big deal? It seems like a nice, cheap alternative to the 3DS which would pair nicely with some of the upcoming games that hold a lot of potential.
I don't even use the 3D 90% of the time on my 3DS.

After reading this comment, I have decided to add in $50 to my budget, just so I can do this.

Because paying for a function you won't use is obviously the right choice.

This also looks like it wouldnt fit in your pocket at all, since it doesnt fold up, another stupid thing about it, which we all know is clearly possible due to the DS being like that in the first place.

I thought that thing was a joke when I first saw it on 4chan. I had to Google it to see if it was real.

And the DS Lite XL came. I bought the DSi when it came out, and right after that they released the DSi XL. And then some other DS-with-a-facelift platform. And I refuse to buy a 3DS, because I swear the moment I do they'll release a 4DS and a 4DS XL with a platform-exclusive cash-in.
aTLEAST it wasn't as bad for the Gameboy line up They atleast tried to evolve it.
