Animators & Artists Needed!

Hello, my name is cwoodsdean and i'm kinda new to this site. My friend said it would be in my best interest if I go here. You see I need help! I am making a series! :D Yes, but I can't do it on my own... I need a team to make this work. I will be the Director/creator but I need an animator/artist. It would be great if I could get 2 animators and maybe 1 even 2 artist to do all the backgrounds and props for the series so the animators have less to worry about. A Musician would also be great but lets worry about that later. And the important thing and why you probably clicked on this post. What I'm looking for in an animator to work with me on this project is some one who can be dedicated!!! Please.. it's fine if you take like an month to make 1 episode that's cool! but it's only cool if your taking that long to do it. not -yea yeah are do it in the next couple of days.... ahhh yeah I.. ahh have been busy ... sorry .. i'll do it next week.... ah sorry I'll finish it later yeah I don't think I can do it.. If you are working on it it's fine if it takes you a wile to animate but if your gunna dozzle about and waste time or disappear on me, please do not bother joining. Ok now the moaning bit is out of the way. This will be an anime series. I love anime so much and have always wanted this to be an anime.. It doesn't have to be just like a real anime. In fact the episodes are only going to be 7 minutes long roughly. But the drawing style needs to look anime. And feel anime. Ok.. so anime! I would like at least 2 animators with the same drawing style to be the animators. This is so that if 2 people can share the work of if it was only 1. 1 person can do 1 episode why the other one does the 2nd. This makes things faster and so the animator can have a brake or less on there list of things to do. Though! They need to have the same drawing style. This shouldn't be a problem because good artists who can draw anime can normally draw different types of anime. So the 2 animators just have to do the same type. Ok so if your still reading and are interested this is how you get to be apart of this! - Send me a link in a reply post to this post of a sample of your animation work. Just so I can see how good you are what your style is like ect ect. It can be a line sketch or a full coloured in finish animation. Once I have my team of animators I will set up a group in Skype so keep that in mind. We will then talk about things in more depth! If you want to talk to me a bit more about it. Do you have any scripts written? Final drafts? How many episodes will there be?

Also getting two artists with the same style to spend their time on this (for free, I'm guessing?) is a tall order.

A word of warning, I get into a bit of a rant at the end. If you want constructive criticism, read it.

A lot of the mistakes you made in this post made me want to face palm. Ill try to explain why with minimal frustration.

Firsly, you should put this in to paragraphs next time. It makes it much easier to digest. It also stops 50% of people leaving the page without bothering to read what you have written.

Well if you are not paying the artists anything for their efforts and you are keeping all the creative rights, are you really in a position to tell the artist/ artists when they are allowed to have breaks or how much time they should be spending on the project? How are they going to be busting their asses on your animation if they have a full time job, or are in full time education or have bills to pay (very likely). Just something to think about.

That's great. But an anime about what? Horror comedy romance drama thriller? At least give the creators a clue to what they might be dedicating months of their time working on, or else very few will apply.

You want a 7 minute long episode to be produced in a month? By 1 or 2 animators, and all for free? Good luck with that =D

One last thing. You have to show that you are a good director. Otherwise why would a good animator come looking to team up with you. It doesn't seem like you have even started writing scripts yet (I could be wrong here). That is a huge gamble for an artist to take- teaming up with you. If you don't show any credibility or at least have a structured and well thought out pitch for artists to read then the only people that you will attract are a handful or naive new-comers and it will probably be their first time animating anything. I know this because I see it all the time on the forum. Heck, I've even been the kid signing up for them.

Sorry I go off on a rant. Honestly as someone who is passionate about making animations, I just want your project to do well and I don't want animators to make the same mistakes I did.

I am now going to end this to anyone wondering, it was my 1st time using the site and all I was hoping for is a couple people to talk to about this. I don't know any body in real life that can animate and I am not good enough. I wanted to work with a friend to make this. I have scrip's and designs and all to make the 1st episode. The 1st one is pretty much done and I have ruff ideas for scene for the others. It was going to be a si-fi anime or something like fruits basket or naruto kinda. Maybe more like elfen lied?

But you all seem to think it's not right to not pay people. Aging I wasn't really thinking that the people who would be animates would be in there 20's needing money. So I will wait till I know more people in real life or can do it my self.
