The judgment system has been updated. Movies and games can now get blammed as early as 50 votes and as late as 150 (vs 200). The final threshold is 1.75 vs 1.6, so slightly more stuff can get blammed.

The REALLY COOL IMPROVEMENT is that games and movies can now get SAVED ahead of schedule.

50 Votes: BLAM if 1 or below, SAVE if 3 or above.
100 Votes: BLAM if 1.5 or below. SAVE if 2.5 or above.
150 Votes: BLAM if 1.75 or below. SAVE otherwise.

Good stuff previously had to wait out 200 votes.

DEFEAT THE PURPLE MENACE!

Go vote and the judgment list should finally clear up! With a little luck, it will stay that way. Also you're all competing for a smaller window with blam and save points, since 200 people can't jump in per submission anymore.

Good to see something finally being done about the length of time things are sitting UJ. I especially like the raising of the blam threshold- here's hoping that makes blams a little easier to come by.

I'm a bit concerned that reducing the number of votes needed for something to be saved will make it easier to mass vote something through (as it wouldn't be too hard to get together 30-40 votes early and push it through before other users can vote it down), and its a little sad that some content will lose views and exposure in the short term (potentially they will only get 50 views), though I guess they aren't getting any at the moment being sat UJ forever.

I guess time will tell, but great to see changes.

This will make it a lot easier for spam groups to mass-5 their shit through, you know. If they only have to get the first 30 or so votes to be 5's (or whatever would ensure a score of 3 at 50, even if everyone else votes 0 afterwards), it could tempt a lot of the retards back out of the woodwork.

The one good thing about the current redesign is that it's relatively peaceful with regards to portal spam, and I, for one, wouldn't like to see it ruined. I can understand the need to deal with the backlog of submissions, but there might've been a better way than just to relax the filter.

Makes sense - good decision!

Voting 2 or above will always count as trying to save it. The system they designed just makes it faster to filter out really bad content (and save really good stuff sooner). And yeah... it also blams a bit more stuff.

Thanks for finally listening to me. Unfortunately I think the minimum score is still too low but it's a step in the right direction.

I'd have to disagree. This new system is clevery designed so that the stuff that gets a high score (3+ is often a daily top 10) will get out of judgment faster, and as those flash often gets lots of views because of its quality it won't miss the 150 views that the UJ section gives.
The 2-2.5 stuff, which needs views and critisism to get better, will still get about the same amount of views as it used to.

Have you considered deleting content that gets below a score of, say, 1.00 even if it's passed Judgement? I know it's not a storage issue, but even having poor scoring content around opens the possibility that imitators will come. And if it gets to a score that low, there's got to be a reason. Do we really want it around anyway?

I am really liking the sound of this new system. Finally things won't be underjudgement for 3+ days. It sounds like this system might make it easier to get exposure.

I think the idea is that it should help good content to get out of judgement and onto the daily top 10, whereas before a lot of good content was UJ for so long that it was no longer eligible for daily awards (which causes things like only 7 pieces making it onto the top 10). I think people will be willing to make the sacrifice of 50-150 fewer UJ views for the chance to get out of judgement in time to be in the top 10.
