I also enjoy mead.
Vodka is the only "hard" liquor I enjoy, and even then I only take a shot as a pick-me-up; despite my Russian upbringing, it still hits me like a lightening bolt.
Other than that, I don't really drink alcohol.

I had some sake screwdrivers last night for the first time, pretty good. Sake on its own is kind of harsh, especially if its cheap shit like what I come upon. But for my preference I usually go for whiskey on the rocks or rum and coke. It's good stuff, mang.

I like vodka or silver rum to drink straight. Svedka is my preferred vodka.

To sip on, I like belgian white, stout, a Tom Collins, Bailey's, white Russian or Jager with something in it (lots of stuff goes well with it). Tom Collins is my favorite cocktail. Some bartenders mess it up, though.

Champagne is good, too, and some white wines. I haven't tried a red wine yet that I care for much.

As far as beers go, I pretty much prefer craft beers. If I'm drinking "hard" alcohol, it depends on if I'm mixing or drinking straight as to what I'll drink. Straight, I drink Jager or Fireball. Mixed, I usually mix either Jack Daniel's or Jameson with root beer. Root beer also mixes well with rum, in my opinion. Not much of a fan of stuff like vodka or gin, to be honest.

In the end though, it all depends on what's available.

My preferences?

Beer: White or Blonde Microbrewery or European. But I do enjoy most non-crappy beers. A.K.A. everything the average United Statian doesn't drink. Sam Adams is overrated btw.
Liquor: Any good Scotch or Caribbean Rhum. Best rhum I've ever had was Kwéyol.
Wine: White, preferably Italian, or Rosé.

As someone who has lived in the Westcountry (UK) for nearly a decade, I love a good locally brewed cider. Sadly these haven't spread too far nationally, let alone internationally (though some are getting there), so I struggle to find anything decent on tap in a lot of places, but the local pubs around here can be trusted to have at least a couple, and often a secret scrumpy brew hiding under the counter.

Otherwise I really enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday/Saturday evening. I'm particularly fond of slightly aged reds (three or four years gives them a really nice tannin kick), or sharp, fruity whites (especially pinot grigio). Port and sherry are also good on special occassions.
