Because it's completely outside the continuity for a human being with gadgets to beat Godzilla. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_(1954_film)
That being said I have the same worries about making it a vs. flick as you do, and others. Bats and Supes as dave/goliath has been done to death. Has Batman beaten tougher than Superman before? Yes, lots of times. Superman has also beaten people stronger than himself and arguably smarter than Batman. It's not the direct muscle against brains that popcorn munchers want it to be and the established audience has seen it done better.

It is literally a human being gadget that kills Godzilla in that film; a very ingenious sci-fi gadget but not outside the realms of any Batman universe.

Yes. That is the point I was making. I know there were other examples spread through the eras where Godzilla was treated as the villain but going right to the source seemed easier. Ultimatly the thing I liked least about the Nolan Batman movies is that they took away the scientist aspect. But then you'd have had to have a character and not a metaphore and I'm gonna stop ranting now.
He's the actor Bruce Wayne deserves but not the Batman we need.
Sexy Yes? I would think so :3

Sorry man I didn't realise you were being sarcastic when you posted that link. I am not used to common sense here often.
I was never planning on watching a movie with both Batman and Superman. The Avengers was a stretch for me because of Thor and the Hulk. I basically dislike superheroes who are portrayed as trump cards for any situation. Superman can fly, lift anything, and block bullets. Why even have Batman?
"But wait, everyone and their grandma has kryptonite! Will Superman make it out alive?!"
Yes.

Personally, I think Clooney could make a great Batman, he has the looks and the attitude for it. You have to remember, it wasn't "Clooney" who was bad, it was the movie. I.E. the Writers and Producers.
While the movie itself was way worse than his own performance, I also didn't like him as Batman. I think Clooney is great in most of his roles (O Brother Where Art Thou, Burn After Reading, Michael Clayton, etc.), but I really didn't like the way he played him. He was just goofy. But I guess being goofy kinda matches that shitty movie. It's too bad Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy was wasted on that movie. She was pretty good considering.

I think the Dark Knight Rises was disappointing and the ending was terrible, but it was okay overall. I really liked Bane.

I liked it, it was a satisfying ending...... but it did have plot holes.
I dunno, they are going to have to buff up Batman to really make him look possible in this movie since the Nolan movies debuffed him. The comics get away with it because they are well.... cartoony, but a live action movie is going to be a challenge me thinks.

Am I the only one who would love it if they had Adam West be the Batman just for shits and giggles? Hell, we all know Superman will take on the strong enemies so Batman can just crack jokes and be a cheesy bastard. Also, this.

Like I said, I feel as though Clooney has the persona for it. He's more akin to the way Kevin Conroy portrayed Batman in the Animated Series. As this sort of sauve, handsome, billionare playboy that Batman is.
The goofy/campy nature of the movie and the way Batman acted was sheerly on the Writers/Producers pushing the movie to be more kid friendly.
Remember, the first two Batman movies from WB (1989 and 1992) were dark and to be honest, I can't see how that even remotely flied as "kid-friendly' looking back at it.
Michael Keaton's rendition of Batman was more reserve, quiet, and kept to himself. He wasn't flamboyant as Bruce Wayne is portrayed in the Animated Series. Coming in with bitches on his arms and shit.
Yeah, Christian Bale had to do that for the Christopher Nolan trilogy, but..it didn't seem to have the same impact with me. I guess, primarily, because the movie has such a gritty tone for the rest of it. Such events kinda roll off ya.
Given an actual development team for the movie, I feel Clooney could be a serious contender for a great Batman.
He would need to be put in the situation where they were trying to take the movie as seriously as Tim Burton's/Christopher Nolan's crew did.
Just my two cents.
Remember when everyone threw a fit when it came out that pretty boy Heath Ledger would play The Joker? I'm sure Affleck will be fine.
I never really associated Heath Ledger with Brokeback Mountain before the Dark Knight. I thought more about Roar or a Knight's Tale.

In his defense, Affleck was da bomb in Phantoms, yo.

Word, bitch, Phantoms like a mu'fuckaah.
I haven't seen that many films with Affleck in it, but as far as I know he's not that bad as an actor.
Batman vs Superman doesn't sound like a film that should be taken all too seriously anyway. I don't think it matters much who you put in the Batman suit.

Whoooa there dude you cannot just drop a bomb like that and walk away without giving any details. I am legit fascinated to hear why you like Batman & Robin.
I hear Ben Affleck is a big fan of comic books, or maybe just stuff like Dungeons And Dragons. Of course, he was also in "Daredevil", which was a pretty bad superhero movie. To his credit, he was legions ahead of the movie "Elektra". Maybe he's learned his lesson. Everybody's talking about this recently.

I don't know...I just found it to be a good movie.
Granted I will admit: at times there are parts that don't make sense or don't follow the overall plot very well, the acting was kinda bad, they could have chosen different actors/actresses, or they could have done a better job at writing the script.
But overall its still a pretty decent movie.

I found it too childish and not fitting the Batman film license. It had too many stupid references and bad plot lines for me. Plus, I hate Robin in it!

I've never liked batman movies anyways, so I don't really care either way
Not only do I think Ben doesn't look the part, but I'm worried about his voice and I'm not too sure changing his voice insanely like Christian Bale did would be a good or bad thing. Will see tho.. I don't know, I just still think it was the wrong choice and that there were probably better options out there.
