Florida seems to be the most trashed on state ever. Here on NG whenever there's a strange story about Florida being posted, people are quick to say "Oh, Florida, move along everyone" or "Typical Floridian behavior." On the local news sites, when they post information about a national story about an incident happening in Florida, they are like "oh wow, Florida, what a garbage place" or something along those lines. Florida seems to just take it in the ass constantly.

Not to mention the obvious Trayvon Martin case, which angered many people, which took place near Orlando, Florida. Many people, including Stevie Wonder, are boycotting Florida entirely and are avoiding the state at all costs. Also, a woman in Florida was sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing a "warning shot" at her husband, even though she said she fired in self defense at her abusive husband, and not even hitting him.

My friend also went to Florida recently to visit a friend in West Palm Beach, and he said the whole place was a shithole, and that everyone around that area seemed rude and it was way too hot and humid. I also have known many other people who have lived or visited Florida and didn't like it very much, mainly due to the muggy weather and too many old people.

So really, does Florida deserve so much hate? I have met a lot of people online from FL and I don't really like most of them, but even they know Florida is a corrupt state full of idiots. What do you think?

Florida is wayyy worse than California.

Despite its problems, nobody is like "I want to move to Florida!" unless they're old. MANY people want to live in California. California has far more nicer weather than Florida, and we don't have ridiculous laws to the extent that Florida has.

Also California has beautiful mountains and people here aren't as butthurt about gay marriage and are more accepting and less judgmental of people.

No, I never really stated that Florida sucks, but I was merely just asking a question. I hear that it sucks constantly, and I hardly ever hear anything positive about it. I may hear something neutral like "it's okay" but they don't like it much though. If they DO like it, it may be a specific city like Miami, which I would like to visit, and that everywhere else sucks.

What place did I say was great?

Now Miami does suck, you could best compare it to as an east coast version of LA. Why would you want to go there? Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are far greater cities in this god awful state, but at least we're not sitting on a fault line.

Florida is often considered the weirdest state in the country.

Just look at this google search I just performed. "Florida weirdest state" turns up very interesting links. I've read one or two, and it kind of unsettled me.

Its hot as hell, the beaches are getting trashed out, and God help us all their mosquitoes are so dam big they can go through your clothing.

You forgot the part where she was able to walk out of the house to retrieve her gun and walk back in to fire at her husband. Remember when abused women could walk away from their abusers and retrieve a gun to fire blindly? I sure don't. You should read the real story.

The only reason florida has a lot of weird and retarded stories is because the group that publishes all american tabloids (its called American Media) is based there, so its easier for them to get their shit filler stories from down the road than from somewhere like washington.

I lived in Florida for about 8 years and it wasn't bad. The cost of living is higher, but you also get paid more. I just hated it being so hot all the times. 80's in December always seemed wrong to me. It's great for warm-weather lovers though.
