Forgot to tell you what you'd probably* be. You're a definite liberal, and maybe you look favorably upon socialism.
*The political compass test isn't the most scientific test in the world. Then again, no test that claims to accurately state where you are on the political spectrum is. On the other hand, this is as reliable as anything any pundit says about the political inclinations someone may have.

Left/right: -3.00, libertarian/authoritarian: -2.05. Still fairly comparable to what I scored in 2005, although I seem to have shifted towards the left. Which is funny because unlike seven/eight years ago I'm seriously considering voting for a centre-right party next elections, but the questions they ask on the PC website allow for such little nuance that they only pick up on huge doctrinal shifts.
The 'International Chart' that they show among the results is a complete joke, by the way. By all reasonable measures I should be somewhere close to Ed Milliband, yet they put me further to the bottom-left than Greek neo-Communist Alexis Tsipras. They should take all the points on their chart and shove them towards the bottom-left until the Dalai Lama is somewhere around -8,-8.

I figured I was a bit more authoritarian, but I guess not. I do think that this test does place a great deal of weight on issues I don't put that much stake into (such as economic issues) and less stake in things I am very strong on, such as criminal and foreign issues.

One question is simply racist, not partisan.
"All people have their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind."
is another one, that isn't partisan.
But this places me further left then Obama (I'm near center)

I'd probably make a great politician considering this test didn't actually reflect my beliefs, they were open questions left to interpretation. Yay for middle ground.

How you interpret an question/issue is highly indicative of your political beliefs.

I've seen many of these topics over the years. It'd be pretty interesting to find all of the compasses I have done before and compare them.

I have become a lot less authoritarian over a space of 4 years.

True to an extent.
Because corporations cannot be trusted to voluntarily protect the environment, they require regulation.
I agree that they requireregulation because they cannot be trusted, however I'm not fully convinced that they shouldhave regulation.
It's a subtle difference in wording, but has large implications.

Then there's this one: "The rich are too highly taxed."
That's a very broad statement, and it depends on where you live. In Sweden the top tax rate is 57%, which a reasonable person could argue is too high. Then there's the US, where depending on how good of an accountant you have, you could game the system to the point where you're paying almost no taxes.
Then there's the question of what qualifies as "rich". Is $250k per year rich? What about $100k per year? It's all relative.

What it actually said in the original piece that many racists tend to be conservative. And that exceptions exist regardless.
UK population, completely different social situation and I'm not sure I consider it a valid comparison for use in US social issues. When taking data from studies in order to draw conclusions there may be need for more recent data.
"The researchers turned to two studies of citizens in the United Kingdom, one that has followed babies since their births in March 1958, and another that did the same for babies born in April 1970. The children in the studies had their intelligence assessed at age 10 or 11; as adults ages 30 or 33"
Most countries have shifted further left or right since 1970 (most recent of the 2 studies used) and racism has changed alot in that time span.
http://wmbriggs.com/blog/?p=5118
explains why these conclusions were done poorly. If you want to just dismiss my points.

I took this test back in 2005 and scored right around where Camarohusky did. I knew I moved to the right since then, but I wasn't expecting to be squarely on the center. I think I might have scored a bit differently if they asked me about issues that really get me riled up, like illegal aliens and gun control. They touched on abortion a bit, but I don't know if it would have made a difference. I am pro-choice, but I also believe in personal responsibility. Does that make sense?

About what I expected.
I remember taking the same test when I was in high school and I was further left and only a little south.

Seriously this compass has many problems. It is out of date, the questions are weirdly worded and some of them downright irrelevant (Really why is Astrology a question? Is it really a major political belief?). More importantly it puts Mitt Romney as a Right WIng Authoritarian right below Hu Jintao. Actually Romney is closer to Hu Jintao than he is to Obama and they're in the same area on that thing. Yes Hu Jintao is on the Right wing.
Overall to the right of where I was before but still center......
