You make it sound like they put stem cells in foods.
Erm, no. But the hamburger in the article was grown using cow stem cells. Idiot.

Yeah call me old fashioned but I feel a nice bond with nature and I think it only well..."natural" that we take our food from the Earth. There's something very, uh, "natural" about it, really. I don't even like pesticides on my vegetables.
Its funny though, I'm the farthest thing from a Hippy but if there's one thing we can agree on its that we should respect nature and only mess with it when we need to, not because we want to. As for me, I'll still be eating my all natural beef, I honestly don't think science will ever replicate the complexity of nature to the degree that it will take to make it taste even close to as good. mmmm, beef.

But hey, all that humanity has created, is made of natural Earth resources! Synthetic shit is also natural!

What you said was retarded for an entirely different reason. And that was because you were undervaluing this use for artificially grown tissue, which would reduce greenhouse emissions by 20%, among other benefits.

It's made using stem cells from live cows from what I heard, but regardless, the meat industry would probably not need to be nearly as intensive as it is currently when this kind of meat becomes an affordable product to consumers.
I think this is a promising "invention" because it does have the potential to prevent a lot of health issues and environmental issues that come from intensive animal husbandry.

I was far more amused by where it said the only person to try it so far was a Russian reporter who grabbed a piece and shoved it into his mouth....What a delightful person he must be.

It seems really weird, but I'm sure in the long run it will be beneficial.

If they can actually get this going at a reasonable pricve it will be good, last time I heard of it the price was ridiculous within the thousands for a single burger, can't be arsed to look into how it is now a few years on, but still don't think it would have suddenly shot down that drastically.
Still good to know it is getting better received now.

Is anyone else flashing to transmetropolitan, where cloning technology advanced to the point we could eat anything guilt free? Also, why is no one using the world cloning? Does it conjure imaged of cows emerging from vats?

If you live in a house or use any of the following products, you have been unnatural and messed with nature:
Modern house,
Nylon tent
Nylon
Paint
Plastic
Store Shampoo
Store Soap
Cars
Computers
Soda
Ice Cream (you'd be surprised)
Anything with an artificial or natural flavoring added to it
Dentist
Modern Medicine
Clothes (even if it is from cotton because almost all cotton is GMO cotton)
Leather (An Acid similar to battery Acid is used rather than doing it the natural way and using the animals smushed brains smeared on the leather and letting it out to dry in the sun)
Surgery
Any Food that has used Fertilizer (unless it only had manure, and even then since most manure comes from cattle which has been giving antibiotics)
Fish that is not wild caught (and even those have been tampered with due to pollution)
Any item made from Petroleum
Electricity
and I can keep going.
Also, as for replicating the "complexity" of beef that nature makes, you don't seem to understand stem cells well; they are not building the meat from scratch, they are simply culturing something that already exists aka something natural.
