Anyone need a SciFi-ish Idea?

This Idea came to me while napping. It is sci-fi action mystery type, with time travel, kind of. If you want it go ahead take it.

main character: a young scientist, who is years beyond his peers, wants nothing more than to better man kind through the miracles of science. I'll call him Issac for now.

friend of the main character: athletic, delinquent, has been a friend, to the young scientist, and has always watched his back. he often helps out with the young scientists experiments. I'll call him Andrew for now

villain: the young scientists future self. some where along the line he lost sight of his goals and aspirations, and now heads down a darker path. Issac changes his name to Baron for now.

basic plot: ( I am just going to give a quick run down of the plot) Issac invents a device that is meant to transport things across vast distances. but instead accidentally invented time travel, (due to Baron's interference). just as Issac and Andrew was about to test it out. they both got drawn in. they wind up over 50 years in the future, and meet up with Baron, who at first seems like a nice enough guy and pretends to want to help them. His true intention is to transfer his mind into his younger self's body, so that he will be able to set his plan in motion to take over the world or something evil like that. (just a thought that was added in, maybe baron actually wants to take down a horrible evil or something that was unlocked years ago, and in his persecute to stop this evil he has turned dark his self, just a thought it's up to you) any way, eventually they figure out that baron is a bad guy and that he is Issac's older self. Andrew finds away back but Issac wants to stay and find out whats going on, how he ended up so twisted, and what barons true plans are. so they both agree to stay and find out whats going on, and in doing so uncover an even greater threat.

sorry for the lack of details and structure, I haven't developed it. what you've read is what I've come up with so far. You can have it if you want just let me know if you are interested.
