sorry,
How can I create a smoke cloud in flash CS6? I kind of remember how to make things transparent and fade away but not enough to actually do it.
Also, is there anyway to make the pencil tool easier to work with, because its really hard trying to figure out where I made a hole in the lines so I can fill in the space.
Here is my little test animation; http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/622405?updated=1
Thank you!
HERE IS THE WORKING VIDEO, its complete as far as my skills go haha

When it comes to the pencil tool, you can try the paint brush tool instead because it's better at telling people when there's a hole in things. For making things fade away, the alpha level in the colour palate controls that. Either make things decrease in alpha over time, frame by frame, or cut and paste the smoke cloud frames into a graphic symbol (Press Ctrl+F8 to make a symbol in the first place, each symbol has their own timeline, so that's where you cut and paste the frames into). If you don't know how to put a symbol onto the main timeline, just open the library panel (Ctrl+L) and drag it on. After that, convert the frame that the smoke is on into a motion tween, and put another keyframe at the end, and go into the properties panel and change the colour: settings to alpha at 0%. Sorry if I'm not clear, I don't know if I am.
If you want to show preview files, you can put them in the dumping grounds (third button from the user name at the top) and link us the the files from there. That way you won't have to upload it the the underjudgement for everyone else to see (unless that wasn't a preview files and you did want everyone to see it). :P
When it comes to drawing smoke, I don't know if this will help, but I find thisvery inspirational to me. I've tried drawing a few frames to mimic it, and it's very good practice.
You can't know what you don't know if you can only use yourself as a reference point.

Awesome you're super informative 8D
I prefer the pencil tool after using the brush a lot before because it looks nicer to me,
I figured out how to make a cartoonish smoke cloud and how to make it disappear, thanks!
I'll just stick with uploading my junk to that one place because it's easier to remember lol

If you want a smoke cloud in CS6 you probably need to use the alpha and blur tools. Or just download a extension or something.

Yeah in my other post I said I found out how to use alpha to change the transparency
