There's this one game called like Descent or something like that. Pixelated, one giant world consisting of levels. You're a gnome who falls off to the world below at the beginning, and a god has the power to bring you back. Only there's a twist. Great game, can literally take you two hours to play on here.

Taking a concept of pixelated game has many amenities vertex or vector graphic games don't.

First of all, Your characters don't need complex looks development. The same goes for all other graphics. Classic 8-bit teleportation from place to place against fluid motion is great help, if you suck big balls at animating. Also, it's very important when it comes to music. There aren't many good free music creation programs (by good I mean good, where you can create any melody you want). For 8 bit games all you need is free Anvil Studio and GXSCC. If you're a cheap ass-beggar with no friends like me and want to create games, then you use free flash making software, free music making software, and so on, and that pretty limits you. Unless you go pixels.
