Hello, and welcome to the official thread for the first round of the NG Audio Deathmatch 2013! Haven't heard of the NGADM? Go here to find out more!
Now, before we start, please READ THE RULES. They're the most updated version, and include stuff that wasn't there before, like the schedule and the prizes! Seriously, read them.
Also, auditions and sign-ups are now CLOSED. It is too late to sign-up for the competition, sorry!
Ok so, let's get started. First off, remember that this is a knockout competition. It started with the auditions phase, in which the panel of judges (Echo, Step, alternativesolution, Neon-Bard and bassfiddlejones) listened to an astonishing 233 auditions, battled raccoons and death monkeys in the Pacific, and eventually handed in their results. Unfortunately, bassfiddlejones was unavailable towards the end of the judging period, so MetalRenard had to chip in to finish up his results. Wonder why Back-From-Purgatory isn't in that list? Well, he unfortunately didn't manage to judge for the auditions due to IRL problems, but he might make a comeback in future rounds! This year, even though we're accepting double the amount we usually accept, the level of quality of the auditions has ALSO doubled, making it just as hard for the judges to choose the top 64.
Anyway, after much discussion and hullabaloo, here's a list of the 64 finalists (in no particular order):
samulis + Bosa
For those that didn't make it in, don't be too hard on yourself. With 233 auditions, it was incredibly hard to get in, and even then us judges were sorely tested to pick out the best 64 (there were 18 ties!). The overall level of quality was astounding, and if we could've accepted everyone, we would've! Remember, this is an annual competition so there's always next year. On a side note, we'd like to give honourable mentions to raggd46, freezwalm, Bspendlove, Kirbyfemur, Warhector, LiquidOoze and jarrydn who just barely didn't make the cut.
To those who did make it in, congratulations! Now begins the real challenge. You've been paired up with an opponent (see below) and you have two weeks to make an entirely new track for Round 1. The deadline is 3rd August at 11:59:59 PM NG Time (EST). These tracks will be scored by the judges and the person in each pairing whose track has the highest score makes it to the next round! During the two weeks of the next round (Round 2), expect a number of reviews by the judges showing up on your song page.
NOTE: if for some reason you find out that you can't make a song in time, then tell me. You can be replaced by someone else who didn't make it into the competition.

I think that's about it. If you have any questions, death threats, etc, please PM me and I'll see what I can do to help!
Oh and by the way, those names are totally not random. Promise.
