Help me pick out a mic, O wise ones 2013-07-19 14:49:11 Reply

Which mic should I purchase?

I dunno how to choose between SAMSON C01 Studio Condenser Microphone & Shock Mount, or Samson Studio USB Condenser Microphone C01UCW.

Any other suggestions as well? Let's just throw out a spending limit for the sake of finding a great microphone.

You need to specify what you're going to use your mic for if you want us to give you useful advice, although the USB mic most often recommended for podcasting or for everyday vocal use is the Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti.

Acting, primarily. Right now I'm using a Blue Snowball, I'd just like something more ideal.

The Blue Yeti is very good. I own one and you can use it in A LOT of situations other than just vocals. I mainly use it for recording my weekly piano videos on youtube and in the past I used it more for vocals. But now that I own vocaloid, I don't really use it a lot for vocals, more instrumental stuff. Just goes to show how versatile the mic is. And it's USB!

I suck at grammer ^ can't you tell?

I'll definitely keep the Yeti in mind. I always liked the way it looked as well.
