Recently, my audio-technica dynamic mic stopped working with audacity, mixcraft, and generally all recording software I've tried. I plugged a new mic in and it worked fine, so I figured okay, bad mic, right? Then, I tried plugging the mic directly into an amp and the sound worked fine so is there something wrong with the mic jack, or is the mic still just messed up?
*Additional Details: When played through audacity the left line still picks up a small amount of sound, but the right is completely silent. And finally, if there is another thread that I managed not to find about this problem, please link to it.
Thanks!

Try the mic with a different cable. Have you tried that to see any results?
