You're looking at it through a human lens. Children think adults are cruel all the fucking time, grow up, and realize well shit, that was actually not that bad and a good thing. Pets hate it when you punish them, but does that mean our actions are inexcusable? At a human level everything seems fucked up, but on a cosmic level, if God were to be real, God would have a lot more authority on what is and is not moral

And back in High School I would think it was fucked up when the entire team would get punished for the actions of one player, but now I realize that sometimes group punishment to an extent works. It's fucked up shit to us. Are we really in any position to try to question a hypothetical God? It would have dominion over us, yeah, from our perspective it's kinda shitty, but from the perspective of the master it could have been exactly what was needed.
