Hey guys , im so excited your having fun with DH! Great submissions so far , im looking forward to see more! I see some people have trouble realising what role does each class represent. Let me clarify it:
Mage: a character who uses magic to fight. A ranged mage is the usual spellcaster you come across in every fantasy setting. A melee mage is a more refined class that needs a little bit more imagination ;) He may be creating weapons with magic , maybe enhancing his powers , maybe transforming into something more potent in close combat. Its up to you.
Healer: Healer is a serial murderer. Lol jk , healer is the nurse of the team , he heals people , you know...by healing them. A ranged healer may be using magic to heal his friends while a melee healer might be a more realistic doctor or sm1 who uses herbs and potions to mend wounds.
Support: supportive characters are often magic users but can also not be. They are the subtle players of the team that do the work away from the spotlights. A supportive character may be a wizard who buffs his friends with powerful auras or someone who cripples his enemies with vicious curses. He may be someone who makes traveling easier or someone who sneaks around , disarming traps and stealing keys. To sum it up , supportive heroes are those who use their skills in favor of their teamates , they do not attaint victory on themselves but assure that their companions will have an easy time achieving the common goal. REMEMBER , healers are another class , dont mix those two.
Assassin: These are the sneaky bastards. An assassin is someone who achieves victory in a swift decisive move. Wether he uses poisonus daggers , a gun or something more exotic , the assassin is not a duelist but a killer.
Warrior: Warriors are heroes who spent their lives training in the art of war. They are aggresive and exceptional at bar brawls. A warrior may be a disciplined swordsman or a feral beast. The one thing all warriors have in common is their superiority in furious melee combat.
Tank: Just like the warrior , tanks are combatants who fight in close range. Unlike the warrior , tanks are not an aggresive player but quite the opposite. A tank is an individual who can absorb a huge amount of damage. A good hearted tank is someone who protects his teamates from harm , a bodyguard. A more selfish tank is someone who protects himself , fighting a battle of attrition , knowing that even though his blows are not deadly enough , he will outlive his enemy anyway. Tanks can be from knights clad in plate to monsters with hard shells or thick hides. Anything that is slow and hard to kill can be considered a tank.
These are the briefings. I hope they help you and solve every question you might have. Please remember , the point of DH is to make ur imagination work , its not to design archetypes we have all seen a million times. Have fun playing and feel free to ask me for anything. Once i finish some commissions i think ill join the fun aswell hehe!
